It sold 1.1 million though. This is only 2017 sales. And the fact that it had little airplay makes it even more impressive because it didn’t need as much radio exposure as some of the other songs on the list.
romantics Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 it's so sad that female mainstream music can essentially be summed up in 10 songs meanwhile there are plenty of songs released by male artists that have had strong relevance this year. this is literally depressing.

So? Other songs on this list were discounted for a while. Issues was discounted for 15+ weeks for example. It did have major promo, but its what it needed to be a hit because the radios wouldn't pick it up.

Swirl900 Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 I haven't heard of half these songs Who are these by? 1. Issues - 1,031,000 (Rounded) 3. Love On The Brain - 636,000 4. How Far I'll Go - 600,000 7. Now Or Never - 450,000

Why is LOTB a way bigger hit when MR outsold it, while LOTB has been streamed only 30M times more than MR WW (380M vs 350M) on YT+Spotify. This also included lots of unoficial uploads for LOTB. The only reason why LOTB had a big momentum was cause of radio playing it so much over the year. Nobody said MR was a streaming hit, tho it was streamed 400 million times across all platforms, but it also didn't do as bad as most members here make it out to be. It did quite decent on streaming, considering the lack of Spotify exposure and the music video it received. Definitely nothing to brag about, but not disastruous either. Pure Adrenaline Posted September 23, 2017 Posted September 23, 2017 Gaga slaying with two songs none of which received a music video, queen did that

volition Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 LOTB is currently and will be the highest selling female solo song without a discount Taylor would have passed but then she discounted for some reason
