Isaiah Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 I love lauryn but idk I feel like doo wop is more r&b and soulful than straight up rap like bodak. Bodak is the first solo female RAP #1 to me

It certainly is a lot closer than I initially thought, but BY should still get it And very weird that on the overall top 20 they show 18.2M and on the Taylor artist page it's 22.1M. That happens sometimes, but then it's 2 different versions listed. This time it's just 1 and so different numbers
Music Is Heaven Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 At this point I mine as well wait for the official article. I can't tell if Cardi is locked or not.

Yeah i saw her at 22M on YouTube insights with a 2M lead and thought it was gonna give her the edge.
Cap10Planet Posted September 24, 2017 Posted September 24, 2017 (edited) A song can fall under more than one genre. I find it hard to believe that people can't hear that Lauryn raps all of her verses on "Doo Wop," and just sings that chorus and the ab-libs. And the only reason it was submitted and won in R&B was to maximize Lauryn's nominations that year, as she competed in rap, pop and R&B that year. Still, "Doo Wop" is definitely a rap song with strong R&B roots to it. Besides, using the Grammys and VMAs to determine what's what is kinda futile. "Hotline Bling" won Rap and Hip Hop awards at both. Edited September 24, 2017 by Cap10Planet

I can't believe people are going to disrespect a legend like Lauryn to downplay her song. Bodak is cute but let's not oversell ha
