@simmnfierzig. #1 next tracking week in favor to who?

Cardi Taylor or Post Malone,?

One of those 3, yes

Guess Cardi... When I get home I'll update this week and maybe also have time to look at the #1 race next week

Not as hard to make a hit when you take a whole beat and flow to a song that already went platinum. It was Kodak's breakout song

I hope you aren't suggesting that sampling from a song that was a "hit" makes it easy for the newer song to be a hit. If anything, it makes it tougher because if the song is worse it'll get dragged harder.

The #95 peaking hot 100 hit was cute for what it was but Cardi show that anything you can do I can do better...I can do anything better then you.

Yes ma'am. Do it for the girls, cardi

Taking the whole beat and flow is not "sampling" a song like everybody else samples a song. :ahh:

and taking the whole beat doesn't mean that it is guaranteed to be a hit...and i was referring to heavy sampling in rap not guaranteeing it to be a hit.

I am glad Bodak yellow was able to surpass the #95 peaking hot 100 hit that you speak of...

I mean just take a look at the crowd shots during this performance :toofunny3:

Really embarrassing. The song is not really my thing but she's a nice person even though she's a bit annoying during interviews. Black people are also really hungry for someone like her to ''dethrone'' or at least challenge Nicki after her reign in pop culture. And the fact that Cardi's getting a #1 hit with basically a sped up feature-less version of Nicki's Only song makes this whole ''first real female rap hit since Lauryn Hill'' even funnier to me. It's all about longevity anyway. No one's touching Nicki but it makes you wonder if she can come back from everything that has happened in female Hip Hop this year.

I mean she jacked his entire flow :rip:

Streaming wasn't even close to as big in 2015 as it is now. Kodak was also less known than Cardi is due to Love & Hip Hop. Females are also ready for a female rapper because Nicki hasn't delivered in awhile. I like the song but it's hilarious to me that she jacked the beat and his entire flow and people let her get away with it

Black people want a new female rapper who's strictly rapping. White females think she goes hard and sound dangerous on the song. Memes, drama and remixes are being made and everybody else follows suit.

by your logic Black beatles and black barbies would have a different result but either way Cardi is going #1 and I'm waiting to see if she can achieve anything special in addition to having a #1 hit

I think she'll be the 7th female

1. Blackstreet No diggity ft Dr Dre and Queen Pen 1996

2. Doo wop (that thing) Lauryn Hill 1998

3. Lady Marmalade Lil kim, Pink, Mya etc. 2001

4. Stand up Ludacris/Shawwna 2003

5. Lean Back terror squad (with Remy ma) 2004

6. Fancy Iggy and Charli 2014

7. Bodak Yellow Cardi B 2017

First to hit #1 (Queen Pen)

Debut at #1 (Lauryn Hill)

solo #1 (Lauryn and Cardi B)

Grammy winning R&B group #1 (Queen Pen)

Grammy winning r&b solo song #1 (Lauryn)

Grammy winning pop collab #1 (Lil Kim)

summer smash #1s (Remy and Iggy)

Cardi tbd

I'm glad that there is a potential 3 way toss up on #1s...it's what the chart deserves after a 12 and 16 week #1 this year

If Ri team is half as good as Tay team, we would have 20 number 1 hits by now. Urgghh.

Don't remind me sis. So many missed opportunities. It's frustrating.

So is #1 still on lock for Cardi?

It's definitely a local song.  That term is usually applied here me sing between countries, but it's just as applicable within a country.

Its a a very urban song.  If you live in some of the states that aren't as into thst stuff, it's quite easy to not here it on radio.

none of my local stations have added it yet.

yes it's a fairly big song, but the fact it will top the charts with about 40% of the points thst despacito was getting, shows thst the song is nowhere near as widespread as Others, and really is "local" even within the US.

40%??

Despacito peak was just over 700 and BY will be around 400

Cheap Thrills was #1 with less than 350

taylor ain't playin no games.

the queen of hip pop soul taylor knew it was important for hip hop/important for the cutlure or whatever the rap community is saying and she held off a week so Cardi can have her moment.

So generous...
