Monster Megamind Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 According to my calculations, Cardi B can be 1 if she is above Taylor in streaming by at least 8.5 million streams (Spotify, youtube etc combined) only then can she overcome the sales and radio deficit. On the other hand, if Taylor discounts her single (to play the game), she could block her.

Not sure why it was a problem for Taylor this time. She had a bigger deal and the formula was adjusted to decrease the streaming influence a bit, which made it easier again to debut from airplay

volition Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 why on earth would taylor discount the only reason you discount is to get a higher peak... you know cause it loses you money i were taylor swift i wouldn't want to lose money to go from a 3 week number one to a 5 week one

Yeah, but like I said before Taylor's second week streaming was gigantic. Of course we can see a huge decline from 2nd week to 3rd week. But I predict the decline from 3rd week to 4th week is smaller.

Despacito is gonna fall out of the top 10 in no time as it is deemed a summer song which doesn't have longevity. Mariah continues to win Let's not forget that OSD spent only 19 weeks in the top 10 (16 at #1), so you can't really say that it had longevity. Despacito is already 22 weeks in the top 10 and still top 5. As for the poster you're mentioning, are you referring to J Boy? If that's the case, he is still here and posting regularly but he changed his name.

Despacito having 22 weeks and counting with a popular video also incorporated into the charts is cute...

Despacito was #3 on sales and streaming last week (#12 on on-demand streaming) and #10 on radio (where it's not free falling anymore), so it's not like it's merely dependent on youtube. It might hang on to top 10 for some time.
