TalkThatRihanna Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 If Taylor discounts LWYMMD in the next week or so it can return to #1 probably
Toxic_Lover Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 So when do we officially find out if Cardi will top the chart or not?
Mattyboy Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 I see Taylor getting 4-5 weeks honestly. Then Logic taking over. Then Sam. Cardi doesn't have radio on her side.

And don't forget that its streaming will rebounce back during album release week

Both songs needed to be released as the lead even tho they're are (will be) better songs on the album. Also both are pretty frontloaded, but I don't think LYYMMD will get as many weeks as BTW tho. BTW's debut was so legendary, I miss February of 2011 I thought the same thing. LWYMMD and BTW were both hyped up and were massive at first. They're also pretty different/controversial than their past works, especially considering they both come after their biggest eras. I just hope LWYMMD doesn't unfairly damage Taylor like BTW did (somewhat) to Gaga

I don't think Taylor talking about herself would alienate people in the way that Gaga talking ab LGBT rights alienated the GP.

She has time for other smashes. My concern is what make her think it was a good lead..?

Not with the inevitable halloween boost for the song hihihi. Although I agree the song will probably drop much faster after halloween. And no, LWYMMD's chances of topping during album release week is a lot more miniscule. CMA effect will happen for reputation, thereby taking away LWYMMD's sales. I believe SIO had viral videos back then when 1989 was released that's why it topped Hot 100.

The song addresses all the issues that were attached to her since 2016, therefore the song's theme is fresh. Now she can move on to other topics instead of releasing "Look" as a 3rd or 4th single and that would be too late like Katy with Swish Swish.

In fact, I don't think Gaga's song itself is what hurt her but only the imagery/message behind it. It sucks how closed minded people are
Icarus Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Look is like nothing on the charts at the moment but still a massive hit and a success. ATRL keeps trying to find a negative spin but facts are facts

The negative sales won't affect its Hot 100 points for that week though. It will only drop off the HDS chart but whatever sales it got during the release week will be counted for the Hot 100 like what happened with Shake It Off.
