Well I hope she gets it. It would be great for a female rapper to get a #1 even if it's for a week. You don't see that quite often

That's quite often for this type of songs, tbh...

Well, US radio dropped it like a rock despite the song still being strong in sales and streaming so... :michael:

I need Logic to stay a lil behind Cardi until Boday Yellow is #1 for at least 1 week.

I thought Havana was discounted and was surprised to see it in the top 40

But it's full price. I know the discounted effect won't be as big now but if she did it would probably go top 10 still.

It might be her biggest hit.

it rose cause it was on hot tracks

Taylor is on lock for 3rd #1

i just feel like LWYMMD did its purpose and all this is extra. I'm ready for the real 2nd single

This. No one cares how long a song is #1 as long as it's #1 and it is not a radio friendly song it's just getting spins mainly because of her power BUT it it proves after her backlash that her power overcomes it and so her next few songs need to be universal.

her songs usually have the universal appeal and Look what you made a legend do is about her so it's a statement song.

Also, loving Ready for it's longevity considering it was thrown out there.

It would be nice if she got her 3rd week at #1, cardi got a week and then logic got a few before hurricane eminem comes through with his built in audience and wrecks shop

Uhm. You don't need to be #1 anywhere to go #1 on the Hot 100...

But sure the sales losses are really hurting

that's great.

I didn't. Taylor gets extra points for putting legendary woman first

Ok...have it your way. I wouldn't be surprised if he still has hit built in base but for now I'd be content with Cardi and Logic hitting #1

All these rap/hip hop artists hitting # 1 this year:

Weeknd

Rae Smurder

Gucci mane

Migos

Lil uzi vert

Kendrick

DJ khaled

Lil wayne

chance the rapper

daddy yankee

Taylor swift the gangstress queen of hip pop soul (Mary J blige appointed and anointed her)

and possibly cardi and logic and possibly eminem (some can remain triggered but it's possible)

Pull through

You forgot Quavo as a soloist. And DJ Khaled isn't an artist really. He produces rap and hiphop and just shouts his name over tracks.

Btw Cardi is getting bigger numbers on all streaming now. As long as she keeps widening the gap, she's snatching that #1 next week. I think she can pull a Panda and get a couple weeks. Then either Logic, a different Taylor song, Eminem, Sam Smith, or someone else with a new track will take over. I love when these rap songs hit #1 because they change up the top spot but don't sit on top forever. Panda, Black Beatles, Bad & Boujee, Humble, etc... all great rap/hip-hop tracks imo.

I only have listened to Logic's song a couple times, but they do sound Macklemore-ish tbh

The same things was said before his last release, and he slayed for weeks at #1. Even his old singles are still very popular, Rap God is getting almost a million views daily, and it was released 3 years ago. He is still huge.

Have you heard any of Logic's music? That's the only song he have with that kinda sound. :rip:

#9 Taylor 107M (+2.2M)

#16 Cardi 76M (+0.4M)

#29 Logic 57M (+1.9M)

No, that's why I said it in my post, I know my opinion might be flawed because I'm only basing it in a couple listening to one song.

He's more like a light skinned Nas than a Macklemore. If you like hip hop you should definitely give his older albums a listen. Especially "Under Pressure" which he have yet to top.
