It isn't really "defeating the evil" if you take into consideration the fact that Despacito still tied the record. If Taylor really gave a damn about the record she would've released her track a week earlier.

It's better than actually beating it though. Lmao.

Tbh as streaming continues to get bigger, the higher the chance of the record being broken. Huge multiweek #1's seem to be the norm now

Meh, maybe with that we might  have a song better than Despacito breaking the record (the song is good I like quite a bit, but I'm hoping the next song to get close to the mark to be be one I truly love)

no, keyword consecutive. meaning 17 weeks straight without being dethroned or replaced.

Nobody cares about the consecutive part. That's such an irrelevant technicality lol. It's most weeks at #1.

2Despacito     448  (-1)

More than 2 times Despacito :deadbanana3:

EDIT: 11% drop for Despacito. Taylor has number one on lock until the next big release.

Alessia getting another top 10, it's what she deserves.

I'm hoping BY doesn't get Anaconda'd but at this rate if LWYMMD slows down, BY will replace it and not Despacito.

Mariah's wig is safe until Taylor gets 17 weeks with LWYMMD

Taylor saving Mariah to then threaten her record is the kind of drama I live for.

Who's gonna stop her :deadbanana2:. The only two scenarios that exist are an Adele surprise release or self-sabatage with a second single (which is prob likely).

So much movement this week, so nothing is set in stone and also quite different to yesterday already

1Look What You Made Me Do     934  (+76) My goodness. :eddie:

2Despacito     448  (-1)

3Bodak Yellow     409  (=) Yes Cardi another week or two and you'll be #2. I need for Cardi b to discount her single in two weeks

11Shape Of You     231  (-2)

Well you served your purpose. Good on you Ed.

Eminem is coming out with new material and she is going to release another single before the year end

Also Nicki is coming with a new era.

I don't know who else is coming through in Q4, though

Boy george really aged well but yes Eminem is the main threat for now. and he's a rapper so streaming will be great. I'm sure he'll do something controversial too like shade Trump or use Trump in a visual like Snoop Dogg.

then JT will release a single in December or January

She absolutely will not threaten her record 100%. There's no way she'd be able to keep this momentum for 4 months, and by then she'd have a new single anyways.

Yeah I agree, I was joking about the record LOL. If Adele could barely scrape 10 weeks with Hello, I wouldn't even be confident saying LWYMMD would get to 10 weeks.

Barely scrape? Did you forget what songs were #2 and #3 during most of those 10 weeks? Do "Sorry" and "Love Yourself" ring a bell?
