Konril Posted September 25, 2017 Author Posted September 25, 2017 RHYTHM 317 "LANY Lifts To Lofty Locus" Chart Date: September 26, 2017 Tracking Week: September 17 - September 23, 2017 Oh wow, a chart date on time, that never friggin' happens... Super Far by alternative three-piece LANY supplants Perfume's If You Wanna (1 - 2). The first for the group in the Arcanean Rhythm. The duopoly continues to flip-flop with former #1 Blow Your Mind (Mwah) by Dua Lipa dipping (3 - 4). New Rules meanwhile takes a little push (4 - 3). Rounding out our Top 5 is the triumphant return of Elevate by St Lucia jumping inside the Top 5 after many weeks outside the Top 10. La La by The Cab takes a heavy stumble (2 - 6) after successfully re-entering the Arcanean Rhythm. Futher on our lower half, Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man dips one spot (6 - 7) which is the opposite of Susanne Sundfør's Undercover which rises up a spot (9 - 8). Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift descends (7 - 9) as well as Switch by Iggy Azalea feat. Anitta (8 - 10). Tune in every week for a dose of weird selections of songs that fancies my ears. The bridge is absolutely amazing though but the rest seemed lacking and the video is just a tad long. This probably hit #1 because Liddos support their Mother or whatever. Shame this song broke her Top 10 streak. Kii of the year is when Retro organized a streaming week for this song. Of course it failed miserably! Ayyy LMAO!!! 4 YEARS AGO Rhythm 108 (September 24, 2013) Zedd - Stay The Night (feat. Hayley Williams) I love Paramore, more so on foxy Hayley Williams. Zedd and Hayley's ode to a One Night Stand is a jam. When she collaborated with B.o.B. with Airplanes, I was equally impressed too. Hayley's voice is really suited for a pop song doesn't it? Stay The Night's video is equally gorgeous as well, the director (also the dancer) used a light bulb to create the distorted effect on the video. Amazing! 2 YEARS AGO Rhythm 212 (September 22, 2015) Ellie Goulding - On My Mind Elena Jane came back with this lead single for Delirium which may or may not be about Ed Sheeran. The song isn't as aurally better than Anything Could Happen since OMM is more accessible and radio-friendly. This is probably why I enjoyed Halcyon more than Delirium but OMM is a bop nonetheless. Thank you guys for the support! Konril Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 RHYTHM 318 "Super Far, So Far, Stable For A Staunch Fortnight" Chart Date: October 3, 2017 Tracking Week: September 24 - September 30, 2017 Exactly 12AM (+8:00 GMT) on a Tuesday. Our Top 3 remains stable for this week. Super Far by alternative three-piece LANY remains atop the Arcanean Rhythm. Perfume's If You Wanna (2 - 2) remains stationary after spending 2 weeks at #1 and relinquishing its place at the top with the current #1. New Rules by Dua Lipa meanwhile is also stagnant at #3. Elevate by St Lucia follows its namesake and pushes forward (5 - 4). Our Hot Shot Debut this week is Don't Speak by Far East Movement feat. Tiffany and King Chain, which completes the upper half of the Top 10. I came across this song after checking out @Apostolis' Personal Countdown: Llama Charts (seriously, this chart is multinational go check it out). I didn't even know Far East Movement is still chugging out music, I last use them during 2010 with Like A G6 and Rocketeer. This track also has the gorgeous Tiffany from Korean super girl group SNSD. Tumbling down to the lower half of the Top 10 is Blow Your Mind (Mwah) by Dua Lipa (4 - 6). Just like the slow burn of the song, Susanne Sundfør's Undercover rises up a spot (8 - 7). Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man continues to hang around the Top 10 after spending 2 weeks at #1 (7 - 8). Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift descends (9 - 10). Our other new entry in the Top 10 this week is Baby by Royal Republic which debuts at #9, the first entry on the Arcanean Rhythm with this Swedish rock band. I don't know which rabbit hole I fell into while scouring YouTube but I accidentally came across this song and I loved it. (Apologies for the graininess of the GIF, the video has so much color and gives off so much noise. My GIF-ing skills are only amateur at best. ) Tune in every week for a dose of random selections of songs that fancies my ears. Nicola Roberts who? Those were my words back in the days. When you ask about a UK Girl Group, I would've answered Spice Girls and Sugababes. So when I joined ATRL, apparently Girls Aloud were a huge deal in the UK, gave their music a listen and wow their discography is amazing. I gave Nicola's music a chance and fell in love with this song. Ginger Power! 4 YEARS AGO Rhythm 109 (October 1, 2013) Lorde - Royals Back then when I browsed the chart section, people would spam that this song is smashing outside the US and American will soon follow, I didn't believe them because you know, ATRL hype. So when this song started smashing in the US, I listened to see what the fuss is about and it was a welcome change with all the dance song I listened to at that time! All hail the the Kiwi Teen Hottie! 2 YEARS AGO Rhythm 213 (September 29, 2015) Disclosure - Hourglass (feat. Lion Babe) Disclosure, how do I love thee? A lot probably according to my listening habits. This is the Lawrence Brothers' 6th #1 4 years into my chart. This song is a track from their sophomore album, Caracal (which already yielded 2 #1s from me at this time: Holding On and Omen). I must admit that Caracal pales in comparison to their debut album Settle but still it gave me lots of bops. Thank you guys for the support!
