2 days late but whatever. 

 

Japanese Electronic Queens Perfume is our Hot Shot Debut this week at the summit with If You Wanna. They are, so far, the only Japanese act to top Arcanean Rhythm.

 

Former #1 Blow Your Mind (Mwah) by Dua Lipa relinquishes the top (1 - 3). Poor New Rules (2 - 2) just can't catch a break, stuck at the runner-up spot. If I haven't been aware of the videos of If You Wanna and Blow Your Mind (Mwah) that would ultimately help their chart run, New Rules could have had 2 weeks at #1 already. 

 

While looking at my personal chart, I noticed that La La by The Cab and I have totally forgotten what the song sounds like. So I listened to it again and boy did it hit me like a truck, the song now re-enters at #4. Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift finally ascends (7 - 5) after stagnating due to cannibalization of plays, you go Heiress of Slytherin. 

 

The lower half of the top 10 are just songs that lowered in position from last week, not that much major chart shake-up this week aside from the Hot Shot Debut and Re-entry. Switch by Iggy Azalea feat. Anitta descends (4 - 6), B-A-B-Y by Carla Thomas declines (5 - 7), Happy by Square Heads tumbles (3 - 8),  Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man also retreats (6 - 9), and Bleachers' Don't Take The Money decreases (9 - 10).

6 years ago is when I started tracking my listening habits right after joining ATRL (technically last week but I got lazy) because for some unknown reason, this forum has the habit of joining Last FM and I joined the hive mind and I'm glad I did because it showcased many songs that I've loved throughout the years.

 

	6 YEARS AGO Rhythm 2 (September 13, 2011)   Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks	The first number one on Arcanean Rhythm is the school shooting song masked by a happy tune, this actually hit #1 last week, such a morbid favorite of mine. Pumped Up Kicks was not the first FTP song I heard, it was Helena Beat which I discovered while browsing YTT. This song helped me discover to this amazing band. I'm sad that they are One Hit Wonders but I will love them always.
	4 YEARS AGO Rhythm 106 (September 10, 2013)   Lady Gaga - Applause	This is actually Applause's 3rd non-consecutive week at #1. When I first heard this song, I instantly fell in love with it. The 80's game consoled inspired instrumental backed up with the fast beats made this a club-stomping song. Although the ARTPOP era was a mess, Applause was such an awesome start and the video was also a dazzling masterpiece. All hail #4pplongevity.
	2 YEARS AGO Rhythm 210 (September 8, 2015)   Imagine Dragons - Shots  (Broiler Remix)	I won't say that I'm a fan of Imagine Dragons, but I like some of their songs especially On Top Of The World. Now Shots (the original version) was an okay song in my book and its video was spectacularly arty, but this remix which I came across while looking for dance remixes in Spotify really elevated the song for me. Like I said remixes are treated equally in my chart.

Late again, I just got home to the countryside and the Internet is really slow... 

 

Japanese Electronic Queens Perfume stays put at the summit with If You Wanna (1 - 1). Trailing them behind is La La by The Cab (4 - 2) which climbs after successfully re-entering the Arcanean Rhythm.

 

The duopoly continues with former #1 Blow Your Mind (Mwah) by Dua Lipa remaining stable (3 - 3). New Rules meanwhile takes a little tumble (2 - 4) . Rounding out our Top 5 is the Hot Shot Debut this week: Super Far by alternative three-piece LANY. This song is constantly played here in our country, while I was on a car ride the song was blasted through the speakers so much that it really clicked to me.

 

 On our lower half, Feel It Still by Portugal. The Man makes a remarkable rebound (9 - 6). Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift descends (5 - 7) after successfully entering the upper half last week, but it looks like her other song ...Ready For It? is ready to shake up the charts finally entering in the Top 10.

 

Switch by Iggy Azalea feat. Anitta continues its descent (6 - 8). @Unoriginal's suggestion, Susanne Sundfør's Undercover is our other new entry this week at #9. This song is just hauntingly beautiful.

Little did I know that Pumped Up Kicks would be one of the ubiquitous songs in the Arcanean Rhythm with its longevity, going neck and neck with Ellie Goulding's Lights. Hurray for dark songs.
	4 YEARS AGO Rhythm 107 (September 17, 2013)   Lady Gaga - Applause	Lady Gaga continues her 4th non-consecutive week at #1 with Applause. This mighty lead single from the ARTPOP era gave me laughs with the iconique lexiconography such as: One second I'm a koons, then suddenly the koons me and Give me the thing that I love. All hail #4pplongevity.
	2 YEARS AGO Rhythm 211 (September 15, 2015)   Justin Bieber - What Do You Mean?	Love him or hate him but Justin Bieber started the Purpose era with an utter banger with What Do You Mean. Right before the oversaturation of tropical pop songs in the radiowaves, the Biebs showed this song to the general masses accepting it as a jam with a solid #1 debuts in many countries' charts, and so did mine.

6 years since ATRL really introduced me to wonderful music, Last.FM, ZeroCharts, YTT etc.
