I always think of you when I start writing a song and struggle with a concept. You don't play but when I think of PH, I think a few things and you're 100% one of them. There's a reason I'm one of your biggest stans! (see: you being my pick to win in DH, me lowkey campaigning for you to be a judge, and being upset when you said you may not join 11) which I mean, obviously you don't have to join anything if you don't have to but the POINT IS that it feels a lot more like PH when you're there so while I'd never drag you for not participating, there would be a bit of a piece missing I guess. And as for your performance in this season... I mean what can I really say? You really did that. As a ''competitor'' I'm lowkey glad that I did not join this season simply because I'd always be so shook knowing that I'll be stomped by you every round. I think it may be like... the second best run in PH history? I mean I'm not sure. There's literally no way I can be mad if you win considering it'd be completely rightful seeing your slayage throughout the season. You even reached new career highs in this season, particularly Aftertaste with its 9.5 score. Stuff like that honestly gives me hope that maybe someday I'll be so much better at writing that I can look back on my old stuff and cackle at how inferior it is (fat chance, I'm too untalented for that). But anyway, good luck on this finale (not that you'll need it) You're such a beautiful person, Karli. and idk we really do need to talk more, maybe it's just because you weren't competing this season and most of my conversations stem from song advice and dubtrack has been serving Witness era this season but yes we really do need to fix that! It's definitely more than just a game for me and I felt so weird during my off season (but I feel like it made me a better writer so I can't complain really) and I'm glad I've been a part of every season since 10. 10 was almost like a new beginning for me. I started writing more songs which were about personal connection rather than chasing success and that was like therapy for me and gave me such a big confidence boost in my own abilities, that I could make something out of something rather than just nothing. I don't know anything about who has the best runs or who has the best scores or anything but all I know is I've done myself proud this season and I wouldn't change a thing. It's funny you'd end your statement on that because that's kind of what I did with one of my finale songs, and it just proved to me how much I have grown since the S6/S7 days and I'm honestly glad I didn't win those seasons because I might never have pushed myself to get to the standard of writing I feel comfortable with now.
