TWIL also initially had horrible callouts on Pop. VOTF's callouts though are some of the worst I've ever seen. :doc:

I'm referring to Billboard, and other credible publications.

I'm saying Billboard and other credible publications don't recognize it.

I'm sure they do haha. They make these records all the time.

It's just nobody's close to it, so there hasn't been any point mentioning it.

I believe in 97-98 there was actually a triple up at one point of songs with 20+ weeks. HDIL, Foolish Games, and Truly Madly Deeply all spent huge weeks in the T10.

Also what was the overlap between UF! and AATB? Both spent 26+ weeks in T10 but I don't remember how much they overlapped

AATB spent 25 weeks in the Top Ten.

Do you have an article or other source where Billboard recognizes that as a record?

I have a question.

How many streams does Rake It Up need to jump into the Top 20/15 next week? Its video is premiering tomorrow at noon and it's at #22 on the Hot 100 at the moment :emofish:

billboard acknowledges it.. watch the first few seconds of this video...

also wikipedia: "Carey holds the record for solo artist with the most number-ones."

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Artists_with_the_most_number-ones_on_the_U.S._Billboard_Hot_100

why are u even questioning this tho??

Really if Taylor isn't coming it has at least another 2 weeks on top. I hope she'll release the week after but I don't that care because I missed her more.

You misunderstood what I was questioning, and misread the quote from @Ash12345 I bolded.

What I was questioning what the record for the most SOLO #1s not the record for the most #1s by a solo artist. I am totally aware that is a record, and it's a pretty damn big one. :rip:

The "record" I questioned was the one for most solo songs going #1. As if this will be distinguished regardless if Rihanna breaks her record and half her songs #1 and the other half are collabs as a specific record. Billboard very well may point it out, but there is no recognized record for more solo song #1s indirectly dismissing an artist for most #1s period because a certain amount we're collabs.

If that were the case, people would use that against Mariah and she would still be behind Elvis since three of her #1 singles we're actually collaborations (I'll Be There, One Sweet Day, Heartbreaker). That would be absolutely bogus. :toofunny2:

I'm surprised Strip That Down is still not top 10 on the Hot 100. Can someone give me a breakdown of how it's doing please?

It isn't that big of a stretch thst st some point such s distinction might be made.

BB already goes out of their way to point out when songs have features.  They never did thst when they were old style duets.

also, BB already separates solo careers from group activity.

so there's precedent to make some distinction.

do I think they will any time soon, no.

will I be surprised if they do. No.

either way, what will be done is a distinction on eras and how things are done differently. Not as "records" but as annotations,  much like the old baseball HR record when it got 61. But due to more games in a season.

True, it may happen in the future, but it hasn't happened yet. :)
