Casual listeners (of which there are tens of millions) are not going to be willing to pay. Streaming is so great because it has made music far more accessible to these people. Such a policy would be completely ignorant of them while simulatenously encouraging piracy among poor and frugal music fans.

The countries are ranked by the number I got from dividing the streams of the #200 song on every national weekly chart and the population of the country. Those numbers don't mean much because I only used the streams of the #200 song and not the total amount of streams -which we don't have access to-, so I turned it into a relative chart, similar to the one we get from iTunes.

 

The colors are inspired by Kworb. I compared this week's numbers to previous data I had collected. It's not the most accurate thing ever though.
