Chemical X. Posted September 9, 2018 Posted September 9, 2018 I Love It is very catchy, I listened to it for a day straight but now I’m tired. I could see it doing well on streaming for a while, but I doubt radio will touch it. The amount of censoring would be atrocious

Green Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Rap Devil could be a contender for a #1 debut if it wasn't for the lack of Spotify payola. Playlists are important for a song to become a hit

Playlists are important for a song to become a hit no they're not, at least not necessarily if ur song is popping enough it doesn't need ""spotify payola"" to become a hit, it should be able to move up on spotify on its own. the only ppl whose songs need "spotify payola" are artists who weren't even popping in the first place and even then "spotify payola" does not a hit make. many songs have gotten "spotify payola" only to lose it in like two days, presumably due to bad playlist performance Edited September 10, 2018 by Yndda

Tarsh19 Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Can anyone explain the difference between the Apple Music Top Charts and the new USA Top 100 charts. Why are the songs so different? I thought Top Charts has always been most streamed songs on AM is the USA, but the Top 100 is supposed to be same and some of the songs are different.
KeirGrey Posted September 10, 2018 Posted September 10, 2018 Being only 2mins long really helps its chances

I think the only difference is that the new charts are updated daily, like the Spotify updates. not sure tho the US and global charts look pretty similar. you can tell AM is still pretty local.

Apple Music's non-playlist charts are basically calculated the same way as the iTunes charts it seems, just with streams ofc. AM's playlist charts are updated on a fixed 24-hour period (like spotify's charts) and are updated every 12 PM PT. Edited September 10, 2018 by Yndda

OK, because for instance Barbie Dreams is #40 on Top Charts and has been for weeks now, but is not on the USA Top 100 at all and hasn't been.
