Most likely a combination of many things:

- Apple is a U.S. company and it does lots of marketing/promotion here

- iPhones and other Apple devices are disproportionately popular here, and AM is more convenient for owners of such devices

- AM actively courted rhythmic/urban listeners via exclusives, artist radio shows, etc. and rhythmic/urban listeners are more prevalent here

 

Scorpion actually got a decent chunk of its streams from Spotify (of course, because of the insane playlist promo). Many rap albums are only getting around 30-35% of their streams from Spotify.

To be fair to Drake though...he had a HUGE presence on Spotify way before AM even existed. Look at his Spotify stats before AM came out. He was always one of their most popular artists.

Oh yeah, that wasn't a knock on Drake. The point was that Scorpion got a higher percentage of streams from Spotify than the average rap album, and yet still most of its streams came from AM.
