A top10 for ApeHit would be great!!

 

Spotify has a history of sabotaging artists and Bey & Jay are the face of Tidal. I only expect 5% of their streams to come from Spotify. The album is slaying on Tidal and Apple Music.

Beyoncé isn't a flop on Spotify so you're whole post is horseshit.

There have been cases of Spotify not supporting certain artists. This is known.

Anyway, let's wait until July once the album is available for free and then we'll see if it gets support.

I remember that country guy did premium only... but no one bothered to check his numbers nor did we have regular numbers to compare it to  so I guess this will be the first time we get a sense of what “premium only” numbers look like

It’s not the first album with a premium-only window, but it is the first relevant one. With Jason Aldean, his streams are so nonexistent anyway the windowing made essentially no difference.

You sure? I thought I saw 3 1B+ streamed albums in her catalogue (with the album that came out during the height of streaming not present) .... but it must be a glitch or something.

I mean even still we won't get the real effect of being premium only because the album isn't advertised like a new release on Spotify, isn't under their names, etc. Obviously this is just me being pedantic but I want to know what the numbers would look like if it was released normally on a Friday with proper Spotify exposure like all new releases, but premium only

Like 70% of streams even on Spotify are from paid users, so there is really no excuse if their album flops with a premium only release tbh. It's not like 5% of users pay.

 

Since the album is #1 on Apple Music though, it's most likely gonna start climbing notably. You also have to note it's not gonna be immediately findable when it's under a seperate artist, for premium users, and with no banner. 

 

And why bring up playlisting when its a whole album being dropped, not a single. An entire album doesn't need to be playlisted for an album to chart.

The album is premium so no songs are featured on any playlist. Also, the album isn’t on the artists pages and the album cover is not a picture of the two. Furthermore, you have to literally type the entirety of ‘The CarterS’ in before it shows up as a suggestion in Spotify. The fact that it’s doing much better on AM suggests that it shouldn’t be doing as bad as it is on Spotify, especially when you consider Bey does well on Spotify anyway. You have to put it down to the reasons aforementioned. It’s not just a random Spotify flop. If it was free, on playlists, named Bey and Jay, and on both artists pages, the numbers would be what we all expected in the first place.
