9. She Loves Control

28. Never Be The Same

it's obvious one can't go up if the other one doesn't fall. Also they changed positions drastically in 2 days.

just another proof playlisting isn't based only on "how many times it's played/skipped"like some think.

Anyway just my thoughts on some songs/artists. This Bazzi has already a 2nd song here and his song has just become a hit. still not charting btw.

Lauv - Getting Over You

who is him? this is like the 4th song featured on the playlist by him in just some months. Only 1 of them managed to catch up some streams, the others flopped. this is currently #193.

Glades - Do Right

Carlie Hanson - Only One

Ok these have been here for 1-2 months and they are still not charting on Spotify. :skull:

no one knows them, one of them doesn't have a wiki page. They have respectively 3k and 1k twitters followers. HOW :deadbanana2:

Havana was removed after how many days?

it was removed, substituted with the remix and then included again. The total was 184 days

I think remixing a song just to give it more life on playlists might become a new trend. It happened with Havana, Perfect Duet and more recently Wait remix by Maroon 5.

The oldest songs right now are Meant To Be and Let Me Go, both 167 days :deadbanana2: the latter especially isn't even a proper hit (41M views, not top10 on pop radio, bad sales). Spotify is truly pushing new pop girls, Bebe, Camila, Dua, Hailee, Zara all get huge support

No song should be more than 25 weeks on TTH. That too a hit like Shape Of You

What are you saying it's based off on then? Why would Camila's team put an album track so high when the single has stalled in streams and needs help? Seems weird.

When rockstar first started smashing the numbers seemed so unbelievable big and steady at first, then Drake came and blew them out of the water so now we see them as ''meh''  but in reality, apart the drake factor, those numbers of phsyco are a record of its own.

I read that Bazzi is signed under Atlantic so it's not surprising to see him appear out of nowhere, especially since that "Mine" song was part of a meme(?)

Yeah, I always wonder about these artists. Who tf are they, I always think "is the today's top hits playlists wrong for me?" Like seriously they need to get off. I don't know how those songs aren't able to break in top 200 in a playlist with 19 million followers :rip: At least Lauv has 2 songs in the top 200 atm

Also James Arthur's "Naked" is still in TTH but it's "Say You Won't Let Go" that actually does chart (and charts higher WW) in the 200 so why not just put that song in TTH instead, Spotify.... Edit: "Naked" charts WW but not in the US

I honestly think a mix of factors (people skipping/playing the song, previous song being a hit, song gaining popularity in other platforms etc. And yes, even label $$$). I mean people suddenly not playing enough NBTS and streaming the other song sounds...unlikely. :michael:

I think that TTH should just include the top50 biggest songs WW at the moment. Would update everyday, what is popular enough gets in and has the extra push.

Instead half of playlists is always made of very old songs (not popular anymore) or songs that have never been hits and never will :toofunny2:

Exactly.

Also, it’s paramount that people remember there are real humans tinkering with every single one of these playlists. Thus, there will naturally be an element of inconsistency in their decisions.

I don’t see why this topic is so controversial here, though. I would be more worried if a lack of exposure presented a significant barrier to success, but fortunately that is not the case.

Say You Won't Let Go was a hit almost a year ago, it's not one of "Today's Top Hits" nnn

The playlist title is a tiny bit misleading though, since some songs aren't Top Hits and are just trying to become hits

Mess, Say You Won't Let Go was released in September 2016 :doc: But the fact it still gets streams is really impressive

Some songs don't become hits but Spotify insists on keeping them on the playlist. It's rather obvious Glades and Carlie Hanson aren't having hit songs.

TTH is more poppy compared to current global top 50. In fact it's basically keeping pop afloat. In fact the most powerful Playlist is Rap Caviar

It's because there is a worldwide chart playlist by Spotify itself already?

If it was by a more famous artist like Justin Bieber or Ed Sheeran it could have probably been a #1 (or #2) but with a shorter chart run.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Rap Caviar lets you play any song in the playlist (not shuffled) even if you aren't premium.

Multiple acts have had 3m+ peaks (none have spent weeks with those nos like Dake tho). So Psycho not really breaking any record for now.

Whatever label person is trying to make Lauv happen needs to give up.

He's so heavily pushed with poor results. :biblio:

Songs like Broccoli and XO Tour Life had such refreshingly organic growth on Spotify in comparison to these forced electronic songs.
