How did The Middle not make it when it had 5.1m from Spotify alone in just 6 days...

Just like with Feeling, Timberlake is struggling with SS streaming. JT can still get big sales numbers (although SS will get less than half of Feeling's 367k first week). Is that a sign of JT aging too?

It's a sign of JT releasing 2 horrible dud singles that killed the album's hype first. If he had just rolled out with "Say Something" only from the beginning, then he'd be in a much better position.

The times have changed.... Drake who is very loved and had an even bigger lead only did 127k. No one is doing over 300k. Taylor didn't even top CSTF first week either.

Make no mistake: JT is a big artist. But he's still an pop artist, and one with a very HAC-leaning audience. These kinds of artists just don't smash on streaming. I don't think anybody was expecting him to put up great streaming numbers.

Drake was never known for big openings in singles sales. I think his biggest opening was with Summer Sixteen with less than 300k... JT, at least, was bigger in the digital sales department, but he killed his momentum with "Filthy". Had "Say Something" been the lead single, it would've opened with over 200k sales.

 

JT is going to struggle in Streaming.
