But isnt it flopping for you? Arent your posting its daily drops everyday? You seem a bit confused

dangerousbutera Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 I'm so anxious for Ariana's next era to see what numbers she does (in streaming especially) 7 minutes ago, simmnfierzig said: 24 hours, 100 million and 1 billion are the only relevant marks imo 500 million is kinda cute tho

It will also be considered a "classic" in the future in the way that it will be referred to as "it all started with LWYMMD...".

I don't think its underperforming when compared to WANEGBT and specially not when compared to Mine You are right for SIO and yes, it is front-loaded, im glad you agree that it is a big hit single despite of what some people try to suggest here 11 minutes ago, dangerousbutera said: I'm so anxious for Ariana's next era to see what numbers she does (in streaming especially) 500 million is kinda cute tho Ariana will do great if the music is good and the visuals are good, which knowing her, probably will be, so you shouldnt worry
blackbeatxx Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 Who on earth would say LWYMMD isnt a mega hit? It's just that it seems to be (in many eyes) more frontloaded than expected
SilverSky Posted September 26, 2017 Posted September 26, 2017 That's the one drawback of starting with record breaking numbers. There is nowhere to go but down and the descend will be at a much faster rate then average because the ascend was at a much faster rate then average. With an artist like Taylor what would she rather have at this point? A lead single that started out humongous breaking YouTube, vevo and Spotify records and because of that is on a fast decline on all those formats. Or, a lead single that started "respectful" and slowly rising (like a normal artist). Uh, I think she'd pick humongous record breaking because she's already had the slow rising longevity. She's a superstar album artist, she does not have to worry about a lead single Spotify and vevo numbers at this point if she cared she could um....promote. I am certain any talk show and radio show will clear the schedule any time of day. 25 descended far faster then 21 for those same record breaking reasons. I think Adele also prefers the records over the longevity.

Unless youre name is Bruno Mars

Unless youre name is Bruno Mars Bruno Mars has a better case because he's super successful like Ed Sheeran. They don't start off with vevo views of 43 million in 24 hours and 19 million for a lyric video. They have much more room to grow. IMO, there is a difference with following a huge era with great numbers vs. record breaking numbers. When you start off breaking records there is no place to go but down and fast unless you plan on being in the face of the public reminding them of how great you are and the records you've set. Taylor simply disappeared and has not even thanked the fans for setting those records for her. The public will not keep working for an artist who is mia. That's fine, she got what she clearly wanted out of lwymmd. I guess her thanks was giving them another song 9 days later. When Adele set the vevo record for Hello I remember her doing interviews. Taylor? Crickets. She didn't even acknowledge the hot 100 #1. By comparison Cardi has been thanking everyone under the sun which gives her song more exposure. Why Taylor paid every accomplishment with lwymmd dust is a turn off for the casual fan. Diehard swifties might not care. But a casual fan like me will stop streaming for sure. I couldnt care less about Adele's streams and i have barely checked them in my life It just found it courious how when compared to other of the biggest hits of the decade, not just SIO or Roar, because hello is bigger than those, but UF!, See You Again, etc... They seem to be doing so much better than that video. But, btw, If Adele got me shook, how does Taylor have you? Edited September 26, 2017 by taylor__fan

It's underperforming / flopping everywhere else. I'm actually very surprised to see LWYMMD flopping so hard in Taylor's second biggest market (Japan). Edited September 27, 2017 by Blue Honeymoon
