Not you reducing Rockstar's monster #1 opening to "top 20" in an attempt to equalize  its performance with Bank Account. The majority of the US Spotify charts consists of rap and yet the only rappers I'm seeing top 10 WW are both white.

Bank Account went #1 on US Spotify but didn't crack top 20 WW. We can also look at Bodak Yellow, which hasn't cracked the top 20 WW. Travis Scott is a fairly big figure in the US and both of his recent singles have done great in the US (Goosebumps specifically has had major longevity). Neither cracked top 30 WW.

Bad and Boujee barely cracked the top 10 WW for ****s sake. :deadbanana: The list goes on. My point stands.

No, I am saying that this is the first song of his to crack the top 20 despite having a #14 peaking 4x plat and #8 peaking 5x plat single. It's more of hip hop being way bigger in US than any other country. Country is worse and they are white artists

"rockstar" is smashing ww because it has an actual melody. B&B does not. Same for BA.

"cocaine on the table, liquor pouring, don't give a damn - dude your girlfriend is a groupie, she just trying to get innnn - saying 'I'm with the bannnnd' ay ay" is pop perfection.

Travis Scott is easily one of the most melodic rappers and has never cracked the top 30 on WW Spotify. Like, just accept the simple fact. It's clear as day. A very select few black "urban" artists are able to cross over to international markets.

I'm not even discrediting the song or Post Malone cause it's a bop and it hits all the marks of a 2017 smash.

He's good but his vocal effect is not universally loved whereas Post Malone tries to make his voice sound like he is using the least amount of autotune as necessary and Post Malone can actually sing

It's not clear as day. See below:

"Unforgettable" // 453,319,738 ww streams // 34.5% from the US

"Mask Off" // 444,918,264 ww streams // 46.8% from the US

"HUMBLE." // 521,221,709 ww streams // 52.5% from the US

"Redbone" // 285,719,666 ww streams // 55.8% from the US

"Bad and Boujee" // 245,807,531 streams // 56.9% from the US

Being top 5 ww doesn't mean much when 60% of your streams come from the US.

Not 81% of White Iverson streams coming from the US. Lmao. :rip:

I can see it though because he was still really new and didn't start breaking through in other markets until Congratulations.  I think rockstar will have even less % from US than Congratulations as he is becoming more known

Lol at you mentioning CTTR with those other two, the disrespect.

Anyways, day 29:

-CTTR WW: 14 Chained To The Rhythm by Katy Perry 2,869,257

-LWYMMD WW: 5 Look What You Made Me Do by Taylor Swift 3,419,695

Not that much of a difference.

So you've effectively given me four rap/trap songs from black artists that have smashed WW in the past year out of the dozens that have done numbers in the US. If anything you're proving my point sis! Open ya eyes! :deadbanana:

I have a quick question that I hope I articulate properly.

When concerning streaming conversions to album sales, is it safe to say that an album with a higher track count has a better chance of outcharting an album with fewer tracks when concerning SPS figures?

for example, next week Miley and Demi are releasing albums.  Will Demi have a greater chance of bringing in more streams as she has more tracks on her album?  Or are these are relative/trivial things and their fan bases usually drive majority of sales/streams?

Not that much of a difference.

LWYMMD is also getting 10 million streams a day on Youtube, and is nearly top 20 on AM (CTTR wasn't in the top 100), so it's not really the same.

It increases on a larger scale and over a longer time period.

Not day to day - week to week for every single video. Especially stuff as old as Despacito :rip:

You should track the views of the #100 video or even the #500 video on kworb to see the increases

As a general rule, yes. Albums with more songs get higher streaming numbers, but Meek Mill will still far outstream Demi even with fewer tracks. Having more tracks is an advantage, but not a big one.

Hunt's Back Road should easily be the first Country song to reach 150 M US streams. 150 M is important, as that means Hunt earns an extra certification level based on Spotify ODS alone. With AM and other ODS websites, Hunt is likely already at/over 150 M ODS anyway.

Not LWYMMD already outside the top 10 of US Spotify. Demi is also close to snatch it. :rip:

Call it what you want, but there’s clearly a standard to how Pop girls are gonna perform on Spotify - Taylor has done it best among them. So laughing at her maintaining at #2 on iTunes, T10 on Spotify, etc. after a month while the other girls weren’t performing as well at the same time (in general really) is what is disrespectful LOL.

edit: And that was post was clearly directed at the US where, according to Kworb, Chained was almost out of the T40 in its 4th week, so. But y’all were probably defending / making up excuses for it.
