I didn't expect Sam to debut at #2 on Spotify US...

Why wouldn't he? :toofunny2:

He was all over Spotify, on the cover of multiple playlists, immediately placed at #1 on Today's Top Hits and he had a Spotify video. It'd be crazy if he didn't debut in the top 3.

The same happens on many artists tho and not all of them debut top3

For example, Selena's Fetish. It peaked #9

no, his video is, and the streams for it count towards the spotify numbers

do they?

Ermmm... This is just his second album? He took a long break for a not well-established artist? Didn't you all see how Lorde did? Moreover, it's a slow song, so not the typical song to do well on the streaming department?

well his video is above it and there is no #s, so it's basically #1 :fan:

Can we discuss now how the hell he failed to debut at #1 in UK? This is shocking

#2 on US seems shocking to me than #2 in UK tbh

This is Sam's comeback single, his previous era was much bigger than Selena's, also Selena had multiple singles months before Fetish so it's not like the GP was hungry for a new Selena single...

I posted that screenshot because the screenshot you posted didn't have the video at #1.

In ATRL, so many expected that he would have a Lorde size comeback US wise though....

How is it shocking? lol Almost all successful artists fail to debut at #1 on Spotify.

He's British. This is his comeback after a very successful era. Of course he should debut at #1 considering how huge he is in UK.

I still don't see how anyone would think Sam would have a Lorde size comeback especially since 2017 has been the year of the man.  He is coming off four Grammy awards and an Oscar.  This is his followup to his huge era.  There is nothing shocking here.

And he very likely to climb up, there's nothing with debuting at number two tbh.

11 out of 14 album tracks. Should easily be the country album with most first-week streams and remain until SH2 drops.

That's for sure. Considering Ed Sheeran did over 1M+ streams in UK, I expect him to do at least 600k stream. Maybe I expect too high :rip:

The Spotify "playlist video" for the track (which is not the official clip) is reportedly having a considerable global impact on the service; it's also apparently the first such "vertical video" to be featured in top playlists including Today's Top Hits and New Music Friday, in 50+ global territories. Note that views of this special vid will not be included in the single's stream count.
