I mean she showed us the exact opposite. But if you think it's "weird" to not partake in hair removal then that really just says more about you. :rip:

This trend of pop girls launching faux edginess to accompany their new album cycles is so tiring. Can she throw her phone back into the ocean?

This is so disgusting as a promo tactic. Lorde, disappointing.

Lorde became famous in 2013 so no, she is not a “plant”.

Oh good

damn though I had no idea about that relationship, or at least I had put it out of my mind

I hope she's had the space and chance to heal

What is wrong with her

She's always doing too much imparting meaning into anything and everything along with making a new drug her new spiritual awakening for EVERY album cycle.

i think she just says **** and she's constantly underestimating her own popularity. this is the very first time that i think she deserves some lashings because why the **** would she say that???

You're a grown man speaking on women's body hair.

So, Lorde in her album rollout campaign has done an interview with Rolling Stone where she pretty much raves about Pamela Anderson's sex tape. She said:

Quote

I found it to be so beautiful...I watched it, but I saw two people that were so in love with each other, and there was this purity. They were jumping off this big boat.… They were like children. They were so free. And I just was like, 'Whoa. Being this free comes with danger.'

Pamela, however, has been pretty outspoken about how the leaking of the sex tape is a major trauma to her, for example saying:

Quote

If anyone watches it, if anyone buys it, if anyone sells it, it's just pathetic. You can't put a monetary number on the amount of pain and suffering it caused.

Some of the backlash:

Thoughts? Is Lorde trying to create noise for her album by desperately saying controversial stuff? Or what else could be the strategy behind these weird comments?

The excuses in here, y'all are just as bad as "straight men" and their endless defending of their nut ass faves like Noel Gallagher:ahh: They'll at least admit the **** was weird asf.

You know you can still like her music and see the issue with such a statement, right? :skull:

Firstly, I do think this is an incredibly clumsy way of approaching the point I think she's aiming to make and to that extent yes I do think she is deserving of some criticism. Pamela has been open about how she feels about this tape being out, and as such it probably would've been smarter to avoid bringing up altogether.

That said, I do feel what she's attempting to get across here is that she didn't view the tape as something worthy of the derision and malice that was directed toward it and that she thought it was a document of two people who were in love expressing their love for each other in a way she found to be beautiful, and that she doesn't feel it should be viewed as something dark or bad.

Celebrity sex tapes are treated by the public as these purely *****graphic, salacious things and the women involved in them are almost always raked over the coals for it. But at the end of the day, they often depict two people who are simply expressing a feeling, and in many cases it is love. Sex is not inherently a dirty thing, especially between two people who are in love.

Now, this was probably not the thing to use as an example of that given how Pamela feels about it, and I agree it's worthy of noting how she feels. But I also understand what Lorde is trying to say, even if it's incredibly, incredibly off the mark in delivery.

I kinda miss the reflective intellectual she used to come across as:emofish: Something about her seems so off this era. Is it drugs?

Because she wants to be interesting and edgy :coffee:

there was zero reason for her to mention any of that. there are whole two generations that don't know about that stuff, and now she is exposing it to them in the weirdest fashion.

just ******* shut up and release music, im tired of recent interviews from most of them, because it just shows how dumb and out of touch they are.

Lorde was never gonna be immune to celebrity brain.  She's been famous since she was barely a teenager, and no matter how many clever lyrics she has she's going to be out of touch and strange.

The constantly outraged members of a certain base will suddenly be fine with this because it's the Melodrama chanteuse, I fear.

Deserved. I hope she apologizes and they move on from it. This is not a good example to use to convey your point, especially in a public interview.

To be fair I'd never heard about this as I'm young and nor did I know it was exposed without Pamela knowing, it is not common knowledge

I didn't even know she had a sex tape :deadbanana2:
