Lorde talks watching Pam & Tommy s*x tape: "They were like children"

Quote

"I found it to be so beautiful...I watched it, but I saw two people that were so in love with each other, and there was this purity. They were jumping off this big boat.… They were like children. They were so free. And I just was like, 'Whoa. Being this free comes with danger.'"

The wording :deadbanana2:

Why on earth would you say this in a high profile interview :deadbanana2:

Pamela Anderson previously spoke saying how exploited she felt by the tape and said she doesn't want anyone to watch it (it was put out without her consent)

Quote

If anyone watches it, if anyone buys it, if anyone sells it, it's just pathetic. You can't put a monetary number on the amount of pain and suffering it caused."

-Pamela, a love story (documentary)

She's so out of touch. She doesn't have to romanticize this traumatic sexual experience for a woman. She could literally just not say anything.

a new era for any indie pop girl needs a bit of controversy, sit back and enjoy the wave yall we are SO back

By default to have the GP know they exist? How depressing.

When Lily James kept being quoted as saying that Pamela wouldn't return her calls after the miniseries, I was mystified by the gaslighting.

Both of these women are smart and had to have known about the exploitation and just not cared. Lily's never apologized and part of me based on past events thinks Lorde might, but who knows.

I still remember when Tommy Lee posted a fully erect nude to Insta a few years ago. Phew, that thing was BIG

she's awful cuz they literally had their privacy invaded, and they were so upset and hurt about it...

I think she's trying to do a reclamation as empowerment talking point, but if she actually framed it that way, I might have had more sympathy for her here.

Instead it just reads as immensely out of touch.

Aside from the fact that their privacy was invaded, I cannot believe she described a s*x tape as 'they were like children'

As we talk in her apartment and around her city, Lorde often repeats how "terrified" she is to open up about the album — and to let the world hear it. There are songs she forebodingly describes as "rugged," vulnerable, and messy, fitting for an artist who's unlearning the conditioning that taught her to be digestible and "good." "There's going to be a lot of people who don't think I'm a good girl anymore, a good woman. It's over," she promises, eyes bright and full of fire. "It will be over for a lot of people, and then for some people, I will have arrived. I'll be where they always hoped I'd be."

I had no idea Pamela had a sextape. Was it filmed by Paparazzi?
