Trash sentence. Even if it wasn't what she meant she knew what she was implying or what it could be understood as

She did? You know what she thought? He clearly wasn't bothered by it and thought it was funny.

Everything I hear about her makes me glad my mom never played her music growing up. Also makes it easier when I did hear of her I thought she was mediocre. Can't stand her

So you clearly didn't watch the video and nothing about her is mediocre so you clearly never watched her.

Racist and ugly. I'm sure she thought she ate too, which makes it even more sad. I love her to bits, but this is something I hope she has learned to grow from. Treating people as beneath you in a diva, defiant sort-of-way is something, but to ignore the context of saying that to a black person is inexcusable.

It's giving Katy Perry - N in Paris cover energy. :celestial5:

Ugly? You don't become one of the biggest sex symbols of all time by being ugly.

Madonna is beautiful, sorry, I have edited my post. I meant to say that her comment was racist and ugly, not that she is. :chick3:

yes i watched a woman who can barely sing try to sing monotonously while strumming power chords on a guitar. I've listened to madonna's music (via torrenting her entire discography like 10 years ago) i didn't enjoy it. yes she has some good songs on her first two albums and liked a handful of songs in her 2000's era. i maybe find 20 songs by her good but that's not saying much for someone who has a 30 year career. but i don't find her particularly talented, or exceptional at anything other that using controversy to mask the fact that she can sing as well as paula abdul. I think she's great at marketing herself and about it...

This reads exactly like the kind of terrible take from some straight guy who can't understand that making great pop music has nothing to do with playing instruments or being a Celine Dion level of vocalist on a technical level. Madonna has many exceptional strengths as a pop artist and saying she was only successful because she "used controversy" sounds like something Candice Owens or Ben Shapiro would say. So lets list off a few of the reasons why Madonna is great shall we.

Very good songwriter who continued to improve with time

Brilliant visual artist

Redefined what a pop live performance could be

Had a knack of always working with the right producers

Utterly fearless in how she was able to push boundaries

A master of reinvention

Unbelievable longevity at a time when the industry was far more sexist (you don't sustain a career that long off controversy)

Established the template for every single female pop artist who came after her

See I wanted to know if there was more context.

For instance, back in the day many celebs would buy someone else's name or trademark as a business decision.

Since this was not about that...yeah Madonna this ain't it.

Unless Madonna has acknowledged or confirmed, this is a one-sided recollection of a brief exchange 30 years after the fact. Not worth much if anything.

I like Madonna as an artist but only because I had the opportunity to retroactively listen to her entire discography. I don't think I would have grown to like any of her work if I came up in her generation because she truly was nasty and catty at times.

literally EVERYONE were like that back in time. Just watch old interviews from the 90s... Everyone were divas, very opinionated and not politically correct.  The problem is that you are just thinking with today's mindset that everyone has to be nice, polite and a sweetheart. So i don't think so, you will actually like it because you'll be used to it. or at least, not shocked.

And i think that is the reason why current generations don't conect with her. They don't understand her humor and cold personality. Imagine a modern popgirl releasing Truth or Dare today... the backlash she would get :deadbanana:

Flag on the got damn play. There's several ways she could've mentioned the publishing but she went with that phrasing... off the rip....

Oh Ciccone, you make it so hard sometimes.

She isn't, if you look at what she's done along the years you'll see she's not a trash person but!… she is a Leo and she is Italian, so yeah :agaycatabra:

I have seen what shes done along the years lmao. I am aware. Being a humanitarian doesnt automatically make you a good person. You can still be a nasty human being despite helping others. They are not mutually exclusive.

My opinion about this particular incident: Madonna was trying to be flirty, it was a woman vs man type of thing which she's obsessed with

However, it was a stupid comment

I mean she publicly posted herself saying the N word, so it's not a stretch to think about what she would be saying behind closed doors

Why are people downvoting this? She DID say it :rip: weird as hell

@Hector or did she not say it? Or am I just saying the quiet part out loud?

Sounds about white. Sound like something she would say or feel. Didn't she also reduce the greatest singer of all time who helped break down barriers for black women to "mediocrity"? And gloated that she outlived MJ, Prince, and Whitney?

There's no way you can stan Xtina and have this kind of opinion. You stan for someone who tried to be Madonna half her career.

Marketing is not the reason Madonna has grossed over one billion in touring and sold 300 million records. You don't have to like her but this whole paragraph is ridiculous. LOL

Not stanning for Tinashe and Danity Kane talking about mediocrity. Like give me a break. :rip:

But Madonna is a saint you know... Lol

Anyway, let's not deny her talent and beauty either. There's just a couple of artists that match her vision and her hard work ethics. No need to diminish her skills.

Let our divas be divas. It's effing Madonna. I would Lmao if she said that to my face.
