Ubermensch Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Good luck booking those $800 xboxes when people give them away for free used. 7 1
thatsmydemi Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 Is this the first time ever of a console selling poorly and still increasing its price by $100 5-6 years later? I'm sorry but this is getting out of hand. What is going on with the gaming industry and these big companies? At least they could have dropped a Series X Pro or something to justify it.

YIKES. Edited May 1 by Mattically
Reginald Posted May 1 Posted May 1 They really think they're Nintendo As long as Bethesda keeps releasing multi-platform, I have no reason to buy an Xbox
ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted May 1 ATRL Moderator Posted May 1 Nintendo’s impact (Fortunately this is for a console nobody cares about.) 11
Helix Posted May 1 Posted May 1 (edited) i didn't buy a major game in pretty much a year and am thinking right now to sell my PS5. These big tech companies lost their damn mind. And they will be the first ones crying when everyone just stops consuming their products. And it was so obvious that the backlash against Nintendos price hike would'nt change anything. Hell, it will push every other company to raise their prices too Let me unpack my old PS3 and play some nostalgia games instead Edited May 1 by Helix
Venice B Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I don't care for Xbox but this mess is all Nintendo's fault like it's no surprise other companies are rising the price of their games after Nintendo started charging $90 for a ******* Donkey Kong game 1 1
Jack! Posted May 1 Posted May 1 This is so counter productive. I'm not an Xbox user, but having a fairly basic, entry level 9th gen console with a $300 price tag seemed like a pretty good idea. But now, with an $80 price difference between this and a 1TB PS5 digital with better specs, what exactly is the appeal to choose this over that? 1

This wouldn’t work if people didn’t cosign the decision to price Mario Kart at $80. People need to exercise their ability to simply not buy content if the price is outrageous. Mario Kart is not worth it. 5
getBusy Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I'm done with this ****. Not that i was a hardcore gamer, but I've bought many games on release day. Moving forward i'm going for on-sale games only. 2
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Yeah I had a feeling this was gonna be the standard. Lmfao every game is gonna be $100 before the next gen even starts 1

Nintendo got insane backlash for the prices. The consoles might sell amazing but I don't know about games. I honestly can't image paying this much for Mario Kart… and people are not that rich anyway, they won't be buying those games so eagerly when their salaries are stale Edited May 1 by Kern
suneclipse121 Posted May 1 Posted May 1 I get people saying Nintendo for the $80 games but isint the console price increase due to tariffs since XBOX is made in China? Everything across the board is going up in price. Im expecting PlayStation to raise their console prices as well. The PS5 Pro is now cheaper than XBOX Series X so they will definitely fix that asap. 1
50thStateofMind Posted May 1 Posted May 1 the logic in here it's somehow Nintendo's fault that Microsoft is raising their prices, as if they haven't been planning this for ages.
