@Curaga I reached Old Lumiere and

Spoiler

Met the ghost man. My suspicion that this whole world is the Paintress's workshop lowkey confirmed. I have another bonkers theory that Verso is the only one not from "Lumiere/Continent". I think he is "real" and everyone else was "painted" or something like that. Also, I feel like The Paintress has power over people's memories.

Ok I'm addicted. Playing in story mode, I haven't really been challenged accept for one optional boss, but I'm still entertained -- the combat has such a nice rhythm to it. In fact, I think the parry mechanic actually really detracts from this in the zone feeling. If it was slightly more predictable and if the moves did not have these long wind ups, i'd say you have gaming crack. Now it somewhat jutters where it could be so smooth.

The music is so good. I like the story so far but it is early days. I kind of hate that Gustave is so hot because usually I dump the men for an all women party. Also, having these dramatic scenes while he's carrying a bloody, dirty baguette on his shoulder is reason enough for GOTY.

I started playing a few days ago and it's ******* GORGEOUS. The visuals and the soundtrack are definitely the standouts for me but the gameplay is so engaging too :jonny4:and the plot is pretty cool! You can easily tell where their references lie but in a lovely familiar way. I absolutely love it.

Managed to complete the time trial at 37.996 seconds in only 10 tries:superman:

Verso is now with his cheeks and cawk bulge out and with the french beret/glasses hair:sabrina:at all times.

I'm in Visages farming resplendent chroma to level up Dualiso. I'm abusing going from flag 69 to rest to the four legged beast and back..:ryan3:

Also, Lune is THAT girl. I can never not marvel at her face card in any cinematic.

ummm excuse me? I was fighting with #THAT boss in the mask island and for some reason Lune could never play and they forced me to play with Verso again? Maybe I accidentaly added him to a party but I'm not sure what happened to Lune when I needed her break skills :tornado:

Also what will happen if I won't go straight to the boss but chose the other path?

If you mean Mirages (the island with all those faces) - I found it better to do everything before the main path. It's a good way to farm resplendent stuff for weapon upgrade if you are in need. And after defeating each mini-boss from the other paths, I got told something along the lines that the main boss was made "weaker". The end boss of that island was so c*nty from a visual perspective.

Spoiler

in both its forms

and the random name drop during his speech

Spoiler

Front, back, recto, Verso

I had a dream last night that Verso was confirmed gay by a portrait of him and a lover you could find in the manor, so that's my headcanon now :fan:

Did you do the optional Yellow Harvest area yet? You might want to check that out first if not.

There is a long path with lots of enemies that leads to the Paintress fight, so if the Yellow Harvest enemies are too hard, you could go to the Paintress area first and level up there instead.
