To Celebrate 10 years of the official vinyl charts, Official Charts have revealed the Top 40 best-selling new vinyl releases of the past decade

 

According to Official Charts Company data, Taylor Swift's 2022 LP Midnights - Taylor's 10th studio album, re-recordings aside - has shifted nearly 130,000 vinyl copies since its release in October 2022. In its first week on sale in the UK, Midnights opened with the biggest first-week sales of Taylor's career at the time, with 204,000 chart units (a record Taylor would break less than two years later). It topped the Official Albums Chart for five non-consecutive weeks, and spent seven non-consecutive weeks at Number 1 on the Official Vinyl Albums Chart too between 2022 and 2023.

 

Coming in at Number 2 is her most recent album, 2024's The Tortured Poets Department, which has sold 115,000 vinyl copies since its release in April last year. Upon its debut The Tortured Poets Department earned the biggest first-week sales for any album in the UK for seven years with 270,000 chart units (Ed Sheeran's 2017 blockbusting record ÷ (Divide), which logged 672,000 first-week UK chart units).
