halcyonday Posted Sunday at 10:33 PM Posted Sunday at 10:33 PM Two huge female pop stars of 2024 have released new work this year. Sabrina's Busy Woman, an album track from Short n' Sweet (Deluxe), is currently outstreaming Chappell Roan's highly anticipated single The Giver. Busy Woman has received no support beyond some streaming service promotion and limited radio play. Meanwhile, The Giver is Chappell's first single following the massive success of Good Luck, Babe! and her sleeper hit album Midwest Princess. Chappell has already promoted the song on live TV, teased it for months with photoshoots on social media, and released multiple vinyl variants. So why is Sabrina's album track outstreaming Chappell's hyped single? 1

Kyoto Posted Sunday at 10:42 PM Posted Sunday at 10:42 PM I'm actually surprised, cause bussy woman tanked hard. 1 1
Popular Post LIT Posted Sunday at 10:43 PM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 10:43 PM Performing "The Giver" on SNL then waiting almost five months to release it was a mistake that drained most of its hype. On top of that, the final version was missing some of the best aspects of the live version (like the "only a woman knows how to treat a woman right" line). 19
LittleStarmen Posted Sunday at 10:48 PM Posted Sunday at 10:48 PM Chappel firing her management is already showing results 1 5
KahnumDash Posted Sunday at 10:48 PM Posted Sunday at 10:48 PM well, the song went wrong for starters.

Reminded me when Kim Petras performed "Coconuts" at the EMAs and then didn't release it for like 6 months despite it going semi-viral in the meantime. Republic totally missed the moment. I'm kinda surprised gays haven't latched onto "The Giver" more though, it's a top anthem. I guess that's why they haven't latched - unrelatable to pop stans 11
Sazare Posted Sunday at 10:58 PM Posted Sunday at 10:58 PM The Giver was a bold choice for a single; seems that risk did not pay off
Galaxy Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM Don't worry too much, she's still doing fine 2
sailor angel Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM Posted Sunday at 11:00 PM The Giver just isn't a good song and has very limited appeal. Pop listeners don't want country music and country listeners don't want a watered down country pop song about queer love. When she performed it on SNL I already knew it was a chop. All these pop girls wanna go country without recognizing how isolating it is to their main fan demographic. While we're at it, she should scrap that Subway song too. Busy Woman is far from Sabrina's best work but it's a serviceable pop song that's cute and catchy and being sung by the trendiest artist around rn. Not surprised it's still holding up on the charts. 6 2

Archetype Posted Sunday at 11:06 PM Posted Sunday at 11:06 PM Her fans want her unique blend of pop music, not country-pop. 7
Busty Woman Posted Sunday at 11:09 PM Posted Sunday at 11:09 PM ***** EVERYONE LOVES ME, BUSTY WOMAN 1 2
dobrevv Posted Sunday at 11:18 PM Posted Sunday at 11:18 PM whoever actually thought the giver was gonna be a hit is dumb, that song is nothing special 1 7
NewStanner Posted Sunday at 11:21 PM Posted Sunday at 11:21 PM Love both ladies, but The Giver is bottom 3 in Chappell's discography, meanwhile Busy Godman is top 3 in Sabrina's 2
lgaga1fan Posted Sunday at 11:26 PM Posted Sunday at 11:26 PM Pink Pony Club is surging and her label is focusing on that and not The Giver, that's likely why. 4
Afterglow Posted Sunday at 11:26 PM Posted Sunday at 11:26 PM She chose a country song at the wrong time in her career. She's been going viral consistently in the worst ways politically, so choosing a country song was most certainly tone-deaf. 1
yonsé Posted Sunday at 11:56 PM Posted Sunday at 11:56 PM What everyone has said; pop fans don't want country music, country fans don't care about her, and her PR these days is NOT helping her. 7
Rico Shameless v2 Posted Monday at 12:27 AM Posted Monday at 12:27 AM I forgot this came out and most people probably have to. There are better Chappell songs to listen to.

This is worse than the time Gaga performed half of ARTPOP before the album dropped and then redid all the tracks
