base talk No big album releases in April, why?

I feel like it's odd that there are no big albums (that have been announced) for April or early May. Next big release is Morgan Wallen () on May 16. February & March were rather packed with pop girls, and I wish they spread out their albums more. Do you think there will be a big artist who ends up releasing before Morgan or will it just be a quiet month and a half?

but i remember lots of artists start to release singles in april due to summer

we got so spoiled last year with Ariana, Taylor, Kacey, Beyonce, Billie all releasing in March-May but i feel like it was an outlier year bc spring months usually are pretty dead in terms of big releases. we usually get one or two (Mayhem checks the box for this year i guess) but most bigger artists like to wait for late summer/fall

Back in 2023 spring when Morgan Wallen was the only major artist releasing

My guess is that it has to do with the new rule about no mid-week variants counting anymore. That's why you saw a lot of releases in March.

Calling me greedy but you clearly didn't even read my entire post  They all released their albums within a month of each other and I wish they had spread out their releases throughout Feb, March & April since no one big is releasing in April.

 

Also Bey released in March, Taylor in April. So not sure what Bey is doing in this discussion.
