Space Cowboy Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago From detecting cancer years before it appears, to generating cute ghibli images. AI is transforming the world in ways we could't imagine just a few years ago. In a very short time, AI has impacted most industries: medicine, finance, art, education, music, etc And this is only the beginning Is AI the most important invention of the century? Are you excited about it too, or a little scared? 1 1
KatyPrismSpirit Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Artificial Intelligence has existed since the 1950s! But yes, it is by far the most revolutionary technology this century. 1

Anthinos Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I agree and we are only at the beginning. At the moment, I have the feeling that AI still plays a rather small role in our lives. It's used here and there but it hasn't revolutionized my personal life yet. However, I use a chatbot every day and it's really helpful in everyday life. 1
AshleyLovescats887 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Probably. Unless we get a time machine or portals to another dimensions i don't see anything else happening.
HANZ94 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Most likely yes and it is still evolving we aint seen nothing yet 1
Redstreak Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago (edited) If it's not something used in an actual sector like finding illnesses then not really. Otherwise it's just a kill the environment play toy or used by CEO's to erroneously cut off people's insurance Edited 22 hours ago by Redstreak 1 1

AI will invent these too (if anyone/anything ever does) so the point about AI being the most important will still stand
Nico Robin Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago AI should never be used to create art. It's that simple. Art is a human gift and we should cherish it 6 3
Chartman Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago Yes it will help to make machines the exact movements we humans do, and so we can watch machines doing so much of our work. - Materials will be ordered by the robot online - These materials will be delivered without any human input - The robot than gets all the tools ready - Works to create a product - Checks if it has any flaws - Tests if it works properly -Cleans up all the mess it created - Than brings the tools back And here is the final product ready to be used by us, without us wasting any time.
Trent W Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago I agree for everything except art and other forms of human expression I also think that it could've been rolled out in a way that it didn't affect peoples jobs Honestly the cat is out of the box and is not going back, so better get used to it It is the most revolutionary invention but it has been growing for decades now
Venice B Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago At the same time, probably the most damaging one. I think most people still don't fully grasp the impact AI has in the enviroment, but I'm sure they will be pretty apparent in the next couple years. 2
anastaciabby Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago (edited) Shocker there's worms fo brains users here that support this billionaire play toy. What good does it do exactly? Health insurance ompanies use AI to reject you if you need urgent medical care Idiots use it to write their papers so they can learn absolutely nothing and spread their stupidity to the masses like what is happening now AI steals people's jobs. It's stealing jobs from paralegals, it's stealing jobs from CS reps, it's stealing jobs from artists, actors, etc And it's killing the planet Edited 21 hours ago by anastaciabby 2
Kota Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago yes, undoubtedly It's in a very interesting position that other major breakthroughs that we'll probably get this century (robotics, quantum computing) will only bolster its impact. everyone talking about the negative aspects above are only proving this point, actually. important ≠ good.
Illuminati Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago In the same sense that both Putin and Trump were declared Times person of the year, yes. It's not necessarily a good thing to celebrate but it's true.
Vin Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago AI, as we know it today, wouldn't be useful without the invention of the INTERNET. ...Vin 1
The7thStranger Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago Worst invention ever. Let's nominate the Switch as best invention of the century. 1
burninredhot Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) AI exists since 1960s (in a much less advanced form of course) Edited 20 hours ago by burninredhot
