Loca Posted yesterday at 02:11 PM Posted yesterday at 02:11 PM Something from ARTPOP/Born This Way, I think. Venus being produced solely by her gives it the edge. 1

HERO-JUDAS Posted yesterday at 03:05 PM Posted yesterday at 03:05 PM Her trinity BAD ROMANCE, JUDAS and ABRACADABRA. Lyrics, visuals, choreography, voice, bridge and powerful chorus. No other songs have that level.

Instead of being in service of a critique of that culture though, she did something constructive and used it all as a force for good. It was familiar but also a complete reinvention, which would become the main themes of her body of work. BTW brought together music and fashion and performance art and celebrity discourse and music videos. It was really political for its time too. BTW was an explosive declaration that Lady Gaga is, above all else, a multidisciplinary icon who is capable of showcasing her creativity in many ways, and that all of those talents can be laser focused onto a single point. There's a lot of recording artists who can write a 7 week #1, or do quick stunts for attention, or give incredible performances with choreo and live vocals, or deliver a spectacular 10 minute long music video, or who can speak out on social causes to bring about change, there's even at least one girlie who can write a song that sounds the damn same. There is nobody else who can do all of that at once. That was her big one. 1
PoisonPill Posted yesterday at 03:25 PM Posted yesterday at 03:25 PM (edited) Paparazzi, it's just the perfect pop song and the best of Gaga's early-career clever biting songwriting (that she sadly lost). Also - The Edge of Glory. It makes me dance my ass off with tears in my eyes. Edited yesterday at 03:28 PM by PoisonPill
gatito Posted yesterday at 03:53 PM Posted yesterday at 03:53 PM bad romance, she's even acklowledged this by rehashing it at least 3 times now
