Josh Posted yesterday at 01:56 AM Posted yesterday at 01:56 AM Glitter is one of my favorite cheesy films but imo it should have looked more like the 80's than it did it just felt like the director had barely cared about the aesthetic and said "screw it, we're setting it in 2001" also while the album is fantastic barely any of the songs sounded like they would had been in the 80's.

suburbannature Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM Posted yesterday at 02:47 AM A better script (the original one was much grittier) and director. No one wanted to watch a cheesy romance after 9/11 The state of Mariah's mental health was not conducive to an healthy filmmaking process either. 1
prettyinpink940 Posted yesterday at 02:57 AM Posted yesterday at 02:57 AM A different release date obviously and have it just be a studio album and not be attached to a movie. 1
Onyxmage Posted yesterday at 03:11 AM Posted yesterday at 03:11 AM (edited) I unironically liked the Glitter movie. People honestly did too much against Mariah for that role. Edited yesterday at 03:11 AM by Onyxmage 2 1

allforyou Posted yesterday at 07:26 AM Posted yesterday at 07:26 AM - Better visual effects (the ones that appear when she's singing in the club and she meets her love interest are soooo bad, just because the movie is set in the 80s it doesn't mean that the production has to look like it too) - Better script (It's too much of a cliché, it's a watered down A Star Is Born, it definitely needed a more interesting plot) - Mariah needed to work more on her acting, I don't know how to explain it but in a lot of scenes it looks like she's acting, it doesn't feel authentic. The same goes for her love interest, he wasn't much better either. Honestly the only great thing on it is how gorgeous she looked and the music. In the end it was a mediocre movie (a 6/10 for me) but I still think it's better than the tragedy everyone made it out to be.
