Digitalism Posted Thursday at 03:00 AM Posted Thursday at 03:00 AM (edited) I just know that the losers that voted for Mikey are the ones that wanted Demi to win and if Demi had won she would be at the bottom of this list It's Jessica. Edited Thursday at 12:04 PM by Digitalism 1
hugoflegend Posted Thursday at 03:22 AM Posted Thursday at 03:22 AM Objectively... Jessica, but I hate Poor Things with my whole chest so I voted for Emma. 2 1

Mikeymoonshine Posted Thursday at 04:35 AM Posted Thursday at 04:35 AM Hard to pick. Yeoh and McDormand were great, Emma Stone was great but I thought Gladstone was better and that win would have meant a lot more. Chastain's win felt out of nowhere she's a good actor but that movie wasn't it. I felt like Madison's win was just because the academy loves stories about sex workers, she was good in the movie but Oscar winning good? Plus the director is a creep and a bad person in general so I voted for her.
ATRL Moderator supaspaz Posted Thursday at 04:43 AM ATRL Moderator Posted Thursday at 04:43 AM The only correct answer is Jessica Chastain and it's bitterness that is apparently preventing some of you from admitting that 3
Archetype Posted Thursday at 04:44 AM Posted Thursday at 04:44 AM (edited) Mikey, and it has everything to do with the movie being mostly basic and little to do with her acting. There just wasn't any depth to her character to even deserve the nom. Edited Thursday at 04:44 AM by Archetype 3 1
LegaMyth Posted Thursday at 05:00 AM Posted Thursday at 05:00 AM What a group of horrible winners outside of Yeoh.

Mr. Mendes Posted Thursday at 05:55 AM Posted Thursday at 05:55 AM it's Jessica Chastain by a pretty wide margin. I love her as an actress, but EoTF was not her best work.
Flanders Posted Thursday at 06:10 AM Posted Thursday at 06:10 AM Haven't seen Tammy Faye but it's Emma Stone for me. Love her but I didn't buy into her acting at all in the first 20 minutes of Poor Things

Her stans need to get the **** over it. Great performances lose Oscars more often than not. At least Cate lost to another great performance. It doesn't usually happen that way (poor Colin Farrell). Critics will ensure that Tár has some sort of legacy (as they'll do for the likes of the egregiously snubbed Hard Truths, All of Us Strangers, and All We Imagine As Light) and there will always be a small cohort of loudmouths who will never let us forget how much Michelle Yeoh didn't deserve it, but Yeoh's win is going to age very well despite their blathering. She and her film are beloved. Everything Everywhere All At Once had the biggest above the line sweep in the 98 year history of the Academy off the strength of an award campaign that was entirely built around how much people love Michelle Yeoh, while Tár made less than half of the box office of that **** where Adam Driver time travels to shoot guns at dinosaurs. I don't think the vote even ended up being especially close; Michelle probably won by the biggest margin of the five women being discussed here. 1 2

OnlyManInTheWorld Posted Thursday at 06:48 AM Posted Thursday at 06:48 AM Mikey. The only one without a long-lasting legacy and acclaimed portfolio.
Khal Posted Thursday at 10:11 AM Posted Thursday at 10:11 AM Between Chastain and Madison. Picking Madison because I at least understand why they awarded Chastain a bit (stellar actress with a legacy being "due") while the Madison win was not only for a nothing film, but made no sense.
