I'm sick of this. I have never felt any pride in being from this country and to be completely honest I do feel rootless. I'm a 5'6 queer 28 year old man with russian jewish heritage, I'm a musician, I'm all those things but I do not feel any allegiance to the poor excuse for a country that I live in, and I am confident I never will and I find no issue in that. take me outta here. I wanna meet someone somewhere else and move somewhere with them where I can be surrounded by not complete dingbats awl the f*cking time I undertand you very much. I live in Brazil and, even after our (thanks God) former president Bolsonaro did everything you can imagine to fight against the science when we were living the most deadly pandemic of the recent history, resulting in an astronomic record breaking amount of deaths everyday; and after he did everything you can imagine to try a coup d'état to still be the president after losing the re-election, there are still a milions of dumbass who idiolize this motherfücker and would vote for him again without even thinking. I'm glad that, at least, Bolsonaro is probably going to pay in jail, cause Brazil's court is doing it's job very well to defend the democracy (but there a lot of other crimes that he needs to pay, including the way he worked in favor of covid pandemic), but the moviment of the far-right that gave all this power to Bolsonaro are still strong in here, being fed by fake news, religion leaders, panic created by them and other politicians who are only in the congress to create videos for instagram and tiktok attacking the government. Because of them, there are a lot of people who are still in a canine devotion for Bolsonaro, believing that he was sent by God and other bullshits like this, bacause whoever declares themselves as "patriot, cristian, conservative, anti-comunists and pro-family", is automatically a good person. Sometimes I wish I could vanish from this reality and live in my own world, scaping from all the stress that these dumb ass provoque on me, but in other hand, my social circle has only people who are against the far-right, so I can breath, you know? And thankfully, the youger generation is in majority against Bolsonaro and the far-right politics, which gives me a lot of hope. But, for me, the real problem in Brazil today are the religions and their hypocrisy. The fact that they are shielded by a commom sense of moral superiority allows them to dictate what and who people have to believe, and obviously, it's being used for politics purposes. 1

The entire IT sector has been exempted, same goes for pharma. Since our non-service exports were merely $8B, this is the best possible outcome of all the countries, I feel. Countries like Vietnam and Bangladesh have been hit worse than even China in comparison

What Milei did is very specific to that country and the results aren't great either..... Also, the approaches are completely different. Milei believes in free trade unlike Trumpet But the rhetoric is the same. Their supporters will blindly believe in anything they say, even when behind close doors they're just f***ing them up 3

However, I think Trump's actions will probably scare away the moderates and the people who rarely vote. He's sanctioning China the most, meaning most US prices will skyrocket and electronic devices like Apple products will increase due to the sanctions on Taiwan. How can his administration be this dumb? 2

katara Posted yesterday at 06:22 PM Posted yesterday at 06:22 PM I mean the US has been planting stupidity and ignorance all across the country since the 80s so I am not surprised all the homegrown ignorants would vote in a total clown eventually If Trump ran for a 3rd term he would sweep again 1 1

They want Trump to cause crashes so they can buy cheap stocks and sell them at huge profit margins when Trump calls off the tariffs and the markets shoot back up. They enjoyed the Covid dips for the same reason. 1

No, the people advising Trump are not competent people. Quote The Verge plugged in phrasing explicitly used by the Trump administration—prompting chatbots to provide "an easy way for the US to calculate tariffs that should be imposed on other countries to balance bilateral trade deficits between the US and each of its trading partners, with the goal of driving bilateral trade deficits to zero"—and got the "same fundamental suggestion" as social media users reported. https://www.theverge.com/news/642620/trump-tariffs-formula-ai-chatgpt-gemini-claude-grok 1

Argentina's president did something similar recently, he pulled gimmicks that sent Argentinian's economy to the pits, after months of suffering for the average Argentinian now there's some 'calm', his supporters are like 'we're better now, only 3% of inflation', like yeah, but only after a whole year of triple digit inflation, like, worms for brains, it's a blind faith by this point The argentinian inflation was already skyrocketing before Milei. He explained that stopping inflation would take around 12 months, which ended up happening. The Argentinian left would have NEVER fixed the problem since it was impossible to fix without getting a huge pushback from the population that depended on the insane welfare state they created. Trump sucks tho.

Trump sucks tho. Extreme poverty skyrocketed under Milei and I'm yet to find why he still has defenders left. Of course when people have no left money to spend there's going to be less demand and less inflation, but all of this to the expense of the less fortunate ones. His repression over retirees is shameful too Edited 2 hours ago by BrokenMachine
