As we all know Beyonce's Coachella set is one of the most revered modern pop performances and it's considered her best show by many. 

 

Gaga has made no secret of the fact that she is putting in a lot of hours preparing for her Coachella show and she wants to do an absolutely impressive performance. She talked about it in several interviews, she did! 

 

Is Gaga challenging for the crown?

no, beyonce's was historic. she was at her prime, artistically and commercially, and it was seen as her comeback. i don't think it will ever be topped tbh.

 

but gagachella will be very fun!

Beyoncé's was all about race and black feminism. Gaga will be all about the LGBTQ+ community so it can be equally powerful. Both Beyoncé and Gaga aren't just two random pop stars. They both have had legit impact on the culture.

Gaga isn't hiring 300 dancers for her Coachella performance if that's what you mean. 

She's gonna slay regardless. We all know she's a fantastic performer.

Well, Beyoncé IS a Black woman. She's representing her own experiences. It's different. I admire Gaga for her outspokenness for the LGBTQI+ community but it will never be the same as someone having experienced the struggles themselves.

Yeah but Beyoncé's spoke to millions of people because of its themes and Gaga has done so much for the LGBTQ+ community and I think it will touch millions as well. I don't think Coachella will ever be gayer than when Gaga steps on stage. I think while you're right partially, Gaga's loud and proud songs like Born This Way will potentially be a moment.

Her commercial peak is definitely bigger than any Beyoncé era and that's undebatable. The sales and recurrent streams also prove this.
