Raphy23 Posted Thursday at 01:30 AM Posted Thursday at 01:30 AM (edited) Lorde & Gracie Tate: Mimi Webb / SZA / Alessia Cara / Bea Miller Edited Thursday at 02:38 AM by Raphy23
Raphy23 Posted Thursday at 01:45 AM Posted Thursday at 01:45 AM (edited) I could never for the the life of me hear the how Tate sounds like Camila. Camila is more shrill and whiny voice (with some added nasal), similar to Jessie Reyez and ROSALÍA. While Tate's lower range voice has a sultry delivery from her warm vocal tone. Genie in a Bottle Posted Thursday at 01:49 AM Posted Thursday at 01:49 AM When I first heard "That's so True" all over TikTok, I thought it was Lorde's comeback song I was SHOCKED to learn that song wasn't sung by Lorde 1

This came to mind as they're both breathy but Janet's use of harmonies separates her from Britney imo. I'd say Rihanna and Dua Lipa because they're both known as excellent pop singers and they're both raspy / husky / sexy. 1
Scars Posted Thursday at 02:04 AM Posted Thursday at 02:04 AM In the early to mid 2010s, there were so many faceless singers and hook girls that tried their hardest to sound like Rihanna. 1

Adele and Seinabo Sey sound similar, but the latter's catalogue is infinitely more interesting, imo. Edited Thursday at 02:15 AM by exfactor003

TEA. Similarly to the late 90's/early 2000's Britney Spears clone era. So many songs from that era I assume are old Britney album tracks and then I shazam it and it's some random one-hit-wonder that looks and sounds exactly like her 💀 The Rihanna era was wild too though. When she first made it big with Umbrella and that album, the major labels literally started signing other female singers specifically from Barbados (or with that ethnicity) because they were THAT eager to have their own Rihanna….. It's cool that she opened up the doors for non-white islander girls in pop for a minute there but kinda counter-intuitive because they were all pitted against her and marketed as "The Next Rihanna". 1
