Pop(ular) culture is about appealing to MOST audiences.

Hope this helps, since we're on a POP forum.

You're coping for no reason:rip:

A large part of the US likes his music clearly even though it's not even that good.

Like he has a Diamond eligible album, what is this mental gymnastics convo

I remember seeing one of the dumbest posts ever in the rod wave thread

:deadbanana2: This site talking global reach on us based charts always triggers me lowkey :deadbanana:

I don't have to cope with anything, because he is genuinely IRRELEVANT to everything surrounding me... :skull:

But congratulations on having him being a huge US act apparently, get that win...

Lol the problem is the people who cancelled him for the n word controversy were never his audience to begin with , so the cancelation did nothing. Now he's bigger than almost all our faves

"some rappers"

the biggest rappers have toured Europe for instance... :skull:

Eminem, 50 Cent, Nicki, etc.

Y'all really act like people from outside the US are disconnected from US artists, when social media exists.

they had to become bigger than the genre to do that. any B list popstar can tour europe right now with no problem

B list rappers can not

That's a very pretty album cover

But only Kacey Musgraves deserves this type of success in country music! Justice for Deeper Well!

Any rapper selling 500k first week in the US would be expected to sell arenas outside the US too.

That's literally how super stardom works, and it starts in the US...

Nobody talks about if Maluma, Bad Bunny or some K-Pop act don't have international reach, but fume if a musician is US focused and doesn't even try to appeal European, Latin or Asian markets as if it's forbidden for them as an American to make music consumed by only American locals living in suburban and rural areas and not for big city, brat girls and LGBT demographics :dies:

No one is mentioning B-list rappers but you, lmao.

The point is you'd expect an american act's popularity to translate into global popularity, which is the natural order of things.

500k sales first week is definitely supposed to make noise all around the world, but it isn't. :gaycat4:

Because Asian, or latin markets, are already LOCAL themselves... :dies:

Whereas music stars are created from the US market...

you guys say this about hip hop and yet many huge US rap acts, are known outside the US? :rip:

Everybody knows Jay-Z, Eminem, 50 cent, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B, etc.

And that's because US culture has a huge impact on the rest of the world. If the world rejects country, it's because it sucks, not because they're not aware of it. :skull:

this is what the average hip hop tour looks like

Not him steadily continuing to outsell all the girls but Taylor :deadbanana2:

Also, I find everything about this man to be gross, but ATRL really will do anything to downplay or deny success. Suggesting that sales shouldn't be taken into account when reflecting on something's popularity…:skull:

??

Midnights has 22 tracks (13 standard + 7 3am tracks + Hits Different + You're Losing Me)

TTPD has 31 tracks (16 standard + 13 The Anthology tracks)

Remixes don't count.
