goohat Posted March 10 Posted March 10 (edited) I'm very excited this thread was made! As a Thai, I really want to share to you guys our greatest T-Pop era which happened during the 2000s. So, there was a music label or group called Kamikaze which wanted to attract young audience by the very teeny pop sound along with strong image of artists as very cool teenagers (at the time) Although some might feel that they were trying to make it big by imitating how K-Pop or J-Pop looked. But when it comes to music, Kamikaze is one of a kind and has a very special place in Thai then teenagers' hearts. (Also, we have such distinct melody thanks to the five different tones in Thai language lol) I would say they made so many pop perfections, although the lyrics can be very cringed at times but it was for teenagers and that's how they are anyway. We were just having fun and carefree. Starting with the signature song: MSN (^_^ ) by Faye Fang Kaew Kamikaze have so many more hits, below are my favorites: (The guy in the video is so cute) Not sure if he was in Kamikaze, but the music was giving tho. The recent BL show, Gelboys, also shows the impact of Kamikaze on new generation. A protagonist also named after a duo in Kamikaze, Four-Mod. One of the OST also borrowed Kamikaze sound and image, thanks to the producer of this OST is the same who had produced music for Kamikaze. (He is such a cutie tho) To me, this is very interesting that T-Pop has recently brought back the Kamikaze aesthetic. New famous T-Pop groups such 4EVE, PROXIE, PiXXiE also inspired by them. After years of not so lively and teeny music because it was considered not cool enough for Thai teenagers, now they accept it again and fully express themselves. Anyway, there is so much more to Thai music than Kamikaze, I will keep posting more if I can. Edited March 10 by goohat 2 1

I've been studying the language but am far from perfect. The accompanying playlist with Gelboys is what spurred the mass interest in Thai music including Four-Mod, Three Man Down.
