Remember them not even reviewing your favs and then giving them 8s as the time went by.

Nobody takes them seriously anymore.

And I'm not saying this because the album is great but because I just know that if Lisa becomes big they will retrospectively give this a good review. A joke they just want clicks

as if they cared if an artists is big :skull: they also dragged Taylor's TTPD and she is the biggest artist of the planet

this was supposed to be her anti....

The album is bad and Lisa is so corny. Her faux-bad girl image really is non-existent when not controlled and funded by YG.

i went and listened to CL's solo work after struggling to get through Lisa's album because at least CL actually feels like she's authentic to the music she makes.

wtf... lisa IS big. korea's equivalent of pitchfork has yet to review the album but considering how they gave rosie a 2,5... i feel like pitchfork is wayyyyy too kind with the blackpink girls

All pop girls were big. Katy, Gaga, Rih. They still didn't care.

They gave them bad scores and 10 years later they gave them 7s and 8s. They always give good reviews to established artists and hate up and comming pop girls.

but the thing is… the 5s they've been giving to the blackpink girlies are way too high and nice for these playlists of demos they call "albums"

like i said, even korean publications panned them

I love Lisa, but they're not wrong at all.

One line on "Fxck Up the World" manages to summarize the whole experience: "They want the old LISA, then listen to my old ****." It's hard to imagine who wouldn't.

Wait :rip:

I still don't know why they decided to write this line as if it's not the biggest set-up ever

Also, Blackpink released on average one song per year and she only had like 2 solo songs, what "old s**t" is she exactly talking about?

I wonder how they will review Jennie album.

5.2 is pretty high for a review that scathing :rip:

Justice for Elastigirl though!!!

Right, a review like this would've gotten her a 3.5 10 or 15 years ago.

Gaga never got a bad score from Pitchfork. Her earliest review was The Fame Monster in January 2010 which got like a 7.8, and even her worst is like a 6.5.

Rihanna's first review was Good Girl Gone Bad which got a solid 7.4 when it came out in June 2007, and while Rated R got a lower 6, Loud got another good score of 7.6 upon its release.

Katy's first score was Witness in June 2017, by the release of which she was already an established artist. That got a measly 4.8 and she never picked up afterwards.

Moonlit Floor is one of the worst songs/covers I've ever heard, so I'd say 5.2 is too high :doc:

we'll have to wait till we hear it but they'll probably like it a bit more than rosé and lisa's projects but only slightly, maybe like a 6.1 is my prediction

i knew the review was gonna be harsh when i saw the writer, he infamously hates blackpink and everything they do :rip: a 5.2 is low but not as terrible as i thought they would rate it

I didn't know Pitchfork would be that generous tbh.

I think that is rightfully scored, but I was expecting like a 3 or something from them.

The album sounds like they went shopping for demos for potential pop hits and put them together as an album with no curation whatsoever so Pitchfork did not lie one bit

its like that one sia album where she kept all the songs she wrote for other artists

at least Sia's album had a reason for doing it. she pretended to be the artists she wrote for hence the name This is Acting

oh indeed - hers was literally proving her power and being behind so many artists

doing that as your debut after being in a girl group is... pathetic
