Chemist Posted March 5 Posted March 5 LISA, who is part of the record-setting K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, needs to convince you that she has depth without her bandmates. Alter Ego proves she doesn't. . . . The problem is that LISA's role in BLACKPINK is to offer moments of snotty charm—her range may be limited, but it has a purpose. When she's tasked with carrying a track, the songs are tedious Score: 5.2 9
simplywohoo Posted March 5 Posted March 5 I mean did they lie? The album is a mess and the songs seen so disjointed.

Yawn Posted March 5 Posted March 5 the album sucks. rockstar was immaculate and then she served absolutely nothing 3
Blackout2006 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Quote her various musical identities add up to the generic embodiment of a pop star omg and the review didn't even start 2
Wicked Posted March 5 Posted March 5 If it's one thing critics tend to hate consistently as time passes and critical preferences have their ups and downs, it's bad music with no personality. That's basically not even trying. If it's bad AND generic that's crazy. 2
SpankGangsta Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Alter Ego is fine, decent first project. Sure its not revolutionary or exceptionally good but y'all act like its an abomination or something 6 1
OrgVisual Posted March 5 Posted March 5 The album sounds like they went shopping for demos for potential pop hits and put them together as an album with no curation whatsoever so Pitchfork did not lie one bit 1 1
Ponzi Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Eh, Pitchfork sucks but I kind of agree. It's still better than 143.
Digitalism Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) Remember them not even reviewing your favs and then giving them 8s as the time went by. Nobody takes them seriously anymore. And I'm not saying this because the album is great but because I just know that if Lisa becomes big they will retrospectively give this a good review. A joke they just want clicks Edited March 5 by Digitalism 2 1 2
Peak Now Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Quote One line on "Fxck Up the World" manages to summarize the whole experience: "They want the old LISA, then listen to my old ****." It's hard to imagine who wouldn't. I still don't know why they decided to write this line as if it's not the biggest set-up ever 5
