Pitchfork drags Lisa's Alter Ego

Recommended Posts

LISA, who is part of the record-setting K-pop girl group BLACKPINK, needs to convince you that she has depth without her bandmates. Alter Ego proves she doesn't.

.

.

.

The problem is that LISA's role in BLACKPINK is to offer moments of snotty charm—her range may be limited, but it has a purpose. When she's tasked with carrying a track, the songs are tedious

Score: 5.2

I mean did they lie? The album is a mess and the songs seen so disjointed.

She has no identity. Where is the vision?

her various musical identities add up to the generic embodiment of a pop star

If it's one thing critics tend to hate consistently as time passes and critical preferences have their ups and downs, it's bad music with no personality.

That's basically not even trying. If it's bad AND generic that's crazy.

Alter Ego is fine, decent first project. Sure its not revolutionary or exceptionally good but y'all act like its an abomination or something :rip:

The album sounds like they went shopping for demos for potential pop hits and put them together as an album with no curation whatsoever so Pitchfork did not lie one bit

Eh, Pitchfork sucks but I kind of agree. It's still better than 143.

Remember them not even reviewing your favs and then giving them 8s as the time went by.

Nobody takes them seriously anymore.

And I'm not saying this because the album is great but because I just know that if Lisa becomes big they will retrospectively give this a good review. A joke they just want clicks

One line on "Fxck Up the World" manages to summarize the whole experience: "They want the old LISA, then listen to my old ****." It's hard to imagine who wouldn't.

:deadbanana4:

I still don't know why they decided to write this line as if it's not the biggest set-up ever
