She has so many songs that feel like they're building towards something MASSIVE and then they just… end. It's so anticlimactic Am I missing something? Party 4 u has exactly that to me like the third minute and the come to my partyyyyyyy part is the release 10 3

Which, perhaps not coincidentally, I think shares some sonic DNA with Party 4 U. This song, though, I think resolves in a way that feels fulfilled. What I love about it and some others in her discography is that they build this clear structure and direction and then, instead of amping up and exploding, they sort of decompose and fall apart into this beautiful, complicated mess of sounds and melodies and feelings. Forever does something kind of similar. I think that's an element that sort of calls back to Track 10's final minutes. This is all true and I respect it. I think my biggest problem with songs like these is that they build up so much tension and it never gets released, so ultimately I walk away from the song feeling unsatisfied. I feel the same way about Break The Ice by Britney. I guess songs like these just aren't for me. 28 minutes ago, Cain said: Am I missing something? I had a few other Charli songs in mind when I made that comment.
