First ever Balkan First Lady of the USA comforting a Serbian family that lost their home to fire in their native language. Melania is Slovenian but also speaks Serbian and Croatia due to being born in Yugoslavia

"Serbian family" meanwhile the fact is that this is a Bosnian family that left their country (Bosnia and Herzegovina) in 92 because of the war Serbia started that ended in genocide against Bosnians. Stop the Bosnian people/country/language erasure. Also to say speaks Serbian/Croatian when it's also Bosnian/Montenegrin is wrong and AGAIN we go back to language and nationality erasures.. Much better to say Yugoslavian language.

I'm Slovenian and you're 100% right. "Balkan" is kinda a discriminatory word in Slovenia.

It's so weird and fascinating to hear a First Lady of the US speaking Slovenian (my native language)

My apologies, as part of my retribution of such henious act, I will purchase tickets to see Slovenia's queen of art pop Raiven and her concert for the Sirene tour. I heard @Thickorita and @khalyan will be joining as well!

Lmaoooo the way that lady was ready to TEST Ms. Melanija Knavs by saying to her "DOBAR DAN!!!" loud and clear and just started rumbleing in her native language right away while Melania was still trying to figure out what the hell is going on ksksksksk :deadbanana2: :dies:

Also Slovene is very different language than Croatian/Serbian/Bosnian. It's kinda like Portugese and Spanish, similar but different. So her speaking non-native language is quite impressive. Explains probably why she said to that officer "childhood language" as learning Croatian-Serbian was the main and official language back in Yugoslavia.
