We were told Lady Gaga was a highlight in the Joker 2 movie and yet she's been  nominated for worst actress 

 

What happened?

I don't know. It should've been the woman in my avatar instead (and this is coming from someone that hasn't seen JFAD but trusts Gaga enough to believe that she gave a good performance).

I don't think folks actually think her performance was the worst of the year -- it's just because she's in a universally panned movie, and it'll get clicks and reactions (the OGHs are always reliable for this!). In fact, many critics and filmmakers said her performance was one of the only good parts of the film

Yep, I personally find her to be an absolutely dreadful actress but that's just me.

She's hella stiff and feel rehearsed. It's all in the eyes.

Eh, it is a similar situation to Jennifer Lawrence's performance in mother! — J Law was exceptional in it, but the movie was so divisive / hated that it got an undeserved nomination, while some think it is one of her career highlights. Gaga did not shine that much in J:FAD (mostly because of lack of screentime), but she really was the saving grace of the movie.

Far be it from me to interrupt the OGH circlejerk but if a Razzie nomination makes someone a bad actress, then so is Cate Blanchett, who is also nominated this year. Not that I expect logic but there you go.
