We are being asked to believe that singer Lola Young's track "Messy" has gone 'Viral'.

Has it though?

Is this the truth?

Several record company executives would like us to believe so - and have us buy in to the hype!

Or is going 'viral' subjective dependent on who wants to make the most money?

Do you perceive this track as having gone viral?

It obviously got a huge marketing push, but I guess it caught on after that. Annoying when there's so much underrated talent in the UK, rubbish like this is what gets the global push

I still can't believe the song became this big because Lionel Richie's daughter lazily danced to it on her TikTok video :skull:

Not really but maybe I'm doing a good job at dodging it. :penguin:

I wouldn't know. Suddenly this song is everywhere, but I don't know what caused it to blow up like this. It's kinda like what happened with That's So True. That song also came out of nowhere.

Lola's song is okay unlike Gracie's.

It obviously got a big marketing push!!! ..........so like literally 75% of all hits the last four decades that have been propelled to be successful one way or another? A label doing their job? This notion some of you live under that the hits we grew up with were all ethically above organic songs chosen by the people is so romantic if not stupid. And yet when your fave flops, you ***** and moan that it only happened because it wasn't promoted and the label didn't care. A hit song has to have a campaign behind it but it also has to click with people, it's a combination of the two.
