Girl you're talking all about tone when ranking vocal's objectively is based off technique. Disliking someone's tone is completely subjective but how well they support their notes, their supported vocal range, breath control strain Ect are all objective.

? That's literally my point, the other person was talking about how Ariana's voice is more pleasant and so on and I basically just said: "to you." :rip: I'm literally saying what you're saying.

Bey > Ari > Gaga

But...Ari is incredible and seems to keep getting better every year.

If I woke up to a lip synced half time show on Christmas Day, I would have unstanned then and there. Though, I guess they're used to it

Not you still pretending she lipped that incredible performance. :rip: The desperate trolling. It also has 0 to do with the thread. :toofunny3:

Hmmm I think people aren't giving Ariana enough flowers post-Wicked. I'd actually say she and Bey are in a dead heat.

Gaga is a fantastic vocalist and IMO the best live performer (it's very impressive how she truly is one of the few who ALWAYS has live vocals, even with intense choreography), but I'd say Ariana=Bey>Gaga for vocals.

It goes:

  1. Beyoncé
  2. Ariana
  3. Gaga

As far as what they've displayed, tone, technique, versatility, emotion and of course consistency.

I know people love to lean into their opinion that Beyoncé doesn't emote, but I think you're looking for a specific kind of very immediate display of emotion, like an Adele where it's not so much about the range or vocal choices but the emotion the actual tone of the voice creates. For Beyoncé, whose tone is more neutral, the emotion comes through how she chooses to sing something which imo makes her a more skilled singer than someone whose voice naturally has an emotional quality to it. Beyoncé uses all the tools in her vocal arsenal (runs, harmonies, belting, falsetto, growls, etc.) to paint the picture with her voice. Going with this painting metaphor, it's the difference between an artist who paints a red heart to signify love and another who pays closer attention to the brushwork and the techniques of the painting itself to convey the same idea of "love". It's just one will be more immediately felt by the general public, and the other will take a bit more examination into the artistry. That said, Beyoncé absolutely has delivered highly emotional performances where the feelings were in the forefront, too.

When it comes to harmonizing, vocal producing, versatility (Beyoncé differs from most in not having to majorly change her vocal-style to still pull off so many varying genres), she's in a league of her own.

I think this is a great example of Beyoncé's skill as well...the way she can switch up her adlibs night to night, and it sounding amazing every time:

Beyonce, then Gaga

I love Ariana's music but I've never been wowed by her vocals

There's no case one could make for lady gaga over Ariana after Wicked.

All I know is:

Bey can sing any of Arianas or Gagas songs, but none of them could do a mix of Already - Virgos Groove - Formation.

Beyonces versatility is unmatched and peerless.

Let's not say that Gaga isn't versatile when she's been praised for performing pop, jazz, rock, metal even opera.

I don't really know if it was lip synced but aren't most Half-Time Shows lip synced anyway?

OT: Bey > Ari > Gaga. I love Gaga's emotion and her performance style in general is more appealing to me than the other 2 ladies, but if we're talking pure vocals Bey is unmatched and Ari is a smidge above Gaga for sure.

Ariana is not equal to bey let us not unless we are talking about Destiny's child Beyonce, from bday on Beyonce's vocals entered a whole new realm few singers in popular music are ******* with
