momal Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago If you take into consideration their talents and abilities (singing, dancing, songwriting, performing, visuals, playing the instruments, producing), the industry and peers praise and discography reviews by critics, best of all time lists, which one comes out on top? For example, acclaimedmusic.net Most acclaimed artists of all time (which measures albums/songs acclaim) ranking: 26.Madonna 70.Beyoncé 310.Taylor Swift 386.Lady Gaga 818.Mariah Carey Rolling Stone The 200 Greatest Singers of All Time: 5.Mariah Carey 8.Beyoncé 58.Lady Gaga 102.Taylor Swift Madonna N/A Most Grammys won: Beyoncé - 32 Taylor Swift - 14 Lady Gaga - 13 Madonna - 7 Mariah Carey - 6 Rolling Stone 100 greatest songwriters of all time list: 56.Madonna 97.Taylor Swift Beyoncé N/A Mariah Carey N/A Lady Gaga N/A Rolling Stone 100 Greatest artists of all time: 36.Madonna Mariah Carey N/A Beyoncé N/A Mariah Carey N/A Lady Gaga N/A Taylor Swift N/A Which one is the most respected and admired musically overall? 1
king_queen Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago A greatest songwriters of all time list that doesn't include Mariah Carey should never be taken seriously or even posted on this forum Anyways Beyoncé is the most awarded female recording artist of all time. None of the other ladies have an album run like ST-Lem-Ren-CC and none of them have a concert performance as praised as Beychella but I'm sure others will come in this thread trying to make the argument that record sales/streams are the same thing as acclaim 5
Thin White Duke Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Beyonce seems to be great at picking songs for herself, so her I guess

The thing is Bey is that she's one of the best performers we've ever had but her music doesn't compare to Mariah's for instance. You can give a Mariah a pen and she writes you a hit, which is not the same for Beyoncé, the same way Mariah could never put on a show like Bey. It all comes down to the artist you like the most 2
A-V-XYZ Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Beyoncé's clearly not the most acclaimed. She can't even win 1 Album Of The Year Grammy for God's sake. Lmao. Haha. Hehe. 2 7
ScorpiosGroove Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago beyoncé > madge > taylor > mariah = gaga the top 3 really should include gaga but critics lowkey hate her also at the cherry-picked RS lists when you could've included their greatest albums of the 21st century list they made yesterday with lemonade at #1 or their greatest award show performances list which had the lemonade vmas medley at #1 as well. lemonade is also the most acclaimed female album of the 2010s and bey has 3 of the top 10 highest rated pop girl albums on metacritic (lemonade being 3rd behind brat and motomami) bonus : here's the simpsons parodying lemonade and its best songs pray you catch me and love drought 1

This is weird logic considering only one of the people listed has, and she has more AOTY nominations than those that also haven't won, too. 2
Gladiator Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think its clear to most that the answer is Beyoncé.

Hehe. And she's not alone in the list of artists, especially black artists, that never won an AOTY but should have - including Prince, Kendrick Lamar, Marvin Gaye, Mariah Carey, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin to name a few. I'm glad you can find humor in the Grammys racial bias though, @A-V-XYZ. Lmao. Haha. Hehe. Trust me, Beyoncé knows what the score is, and if she never wins that award she's in perfectly good company with those other artists. It will never erase the rest of her acclaim and legacy. She will always be in the history books as one of the greatest artists that ever lived. Sorry bout it! Edited 2 hours ago by Burn 3
ICLDXU4HS Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Beyoncé is not just most acclaimed but also least panned here. 1 5

Solaria Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago If we purely base it off of critical acclaim it would probably be Beyoncé. Her run from ST till CC has had consistent acclaim both award wise and from major music publications. If we look at OVERALL career and acclaim based on all factors it would be Madonna. That's not to say Taylor doesn't dsserve her spot in that category, but I feel like ever since the Eras Tour she's been way more acclaimed for her business acumen and her ability to contiously stay relevant rather than solely for her music. It's more so the 'how' instead of the 'what' with her. 1
ericcartman Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) It's obviously Beyonce, followed by Madonna. Next would be Taylor and I dunno between Gaga and Mariah, maybe a tie. Gaga and Mariah music isn't really acclaimed Edited 44 minutes ago by ericcartman
Patient Zero Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) A singer should be able to actually...sing? Being a good performer adds to the artistry. So Beyoncé wins. Madonna, Mariah and Gaga are great artists too. BEcause they can either sing well or have a great stage presence. Taylor loses because she can't sing and is a terrible performer. How is she a singer again? A famous one at that Edited 1 hour ago by Patient Zero 1 2

Mr.X Posted 42 minutes ago Posted 42 minutes ago Beyonce is the most acclaimed and Madonna the most successful and impactful.
