BrokenMachine Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago With the tragic current events of California's wildfires, personally, an album with lyrics such as 'Topanga's hot tonight', 'L.A. is in flames, it's getting hot', and 'The Santa Ana moves you', the album hits way different now. Back then, those lyrics were reflections of places she didn't wanted to return to, with even the album cover being her getting away from the L.A. in flames behind her, but sadly that place and event is back again 1
Dante Silva Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago NFR and UV are her biggest classics outside of her debut era. NFR is the one time when even I admit (as a non fan of Jack Antonoff), that he was the right producer at the right time. 1
CottageHore Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Lana is so ahead of her time it's almost like she makes history before it happens, a legend 6
alejandreaux Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago it definitely does but a lot of that is because NFR hits me harder every time i listen to it regardless 1
Sawk Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Those lyrics in particular hit harder now, but I went through a breakup right before NFR! came out, so it really held a special place for me at that moment of my life. It's still my fave Lana record, it's a CLASSIC staple.
Bartender Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago It's been hitting hard since the day of its release
CampfireSmoke Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Her poetry book plus the Blue Banisters title track I said I'm scared of the Santa Clarita Fires I wish that it would rain She hasn't said anything about the fires yet 1
Kayseri Mantisi Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago no, it doesn't. it's worse now. jack antonoff rehashing this sound for 382847 other albums (including Lana's own post-NFR albums) killed all it's magic. 2
VeniceBeach Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Absolutely. That's why it's more acclaimed and remembered than some alt-pop girls' careers 2
Bookmark99 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I have actually come to the conclusion that Ultraviolence is her best work.

Yall give way too much credit to this man you pretend to hate. Jack's production was cute on this album but the album shines because of Lana's songwriting. She had a very clear vision and concept for this album and lyrically, it's very on-the-pulse of what's been happening in America for the past 2 decades
Richie Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Lana is simply the best female songwriter.. her mind is a treasure, its incredible how she gets to write one hell of a song about any subject that haunts her.
