Trump says to invade Canada just cause he wants to. Why are Dems afraid to go as big?

Ya'll cancel them the moment they say something. Doesn't matter what, Trump can not be cancelled

"Democrats" want the same **** as Trump. The problem is a farce of a two party system where they use media(like this) to keep the people divided on imaginary lines. Average Americans are not actually Democrats or Republicans, we're ignorant or we're exhausted.:suburban:

This is very scary even if it's just bluffing. If these threats don't vaccinate Canadians from the far-right bug, I don't know what will.

Me if President Biden had said he was going to invade Canada to steal all of their universal healthcare:

How brave, he's "willing" to say something stupid, meaningless, careless and pointless all in one.

Why should we be praising anyone for being "willing" to do something that would literally start World War 3?

1) Sure

2) If he's saying it, he has a reason to and he's essentially achieving the propaganda he wants, so probably not meaningless

3) Yup

4) Pointless? He's essentially gotten his party to accept his idea, which then trickles down to media, which then trickles down to the median voter.

It does feel like the saddest reality that Dems spent all of 2016-2020 telling themselves voters don't want "pie in the sky promises" and now Trump is the most popular he's ever been and is going "we should invade Canada just cause lol" and the median voter is like "you gotta give it to him, he says what others are afraid to, even if you don't like him!".

Democrats have gaslighted themselves into some weird idea that voters don't like promises of big bold change while Trump is out here like "we should make America the size of the entire North American continent cause it'd be cool lol".

Oh no, this is designed exactly to raise Canadian far-rights up. Far right goverments encourage other far-right goverments to be in power to match their extremes. Just like how Russia's war with Ukraine is waking European Nazi parties up as a response for future war.

In what way did the Democrats not go big?

The Democrats under Biden have heavily involved in supporting multiple wars, military actions and war crimes.

- Ukraine, where they are encouraging the expansion of the war and are no closer to bringing peace to the region.
- Invasion of Gaza, 100% supported by the Democrats and endorsed by Democrat voters.
- Multiple military attacks in the occupied West Bank, and this is on top of the US supported settler groups that attack Palestinians on a regular basis.
- Invasion and air attacks of Lebanon.

- Missile attacks on Iran.

- Support for the rebel uprising in Syria, which is now the de-facto government, at least for the parts that Israel don't annex and the parts that don't remain in Kurdish control.

In any case, President Xi will be smiling at this. How can anyone in America have a problem with him saying there is one China, when the soon to be President of the United States is openly talking about invading Panama, Greenland and Canada?

I mean it shows the lack of political imagination of Dems that most replies largely can't see the example as dynamic shifting political discourse and are going "I don't know if America should invade even more places".

People can't even do a theoretical exercise about Democrats expanding the Overton Window because they've accepted that Dems do not and will never support radical change.

No one is saying to invade anyone lol. The point is that Trump took what is an obscene idea and made it palpable to Americans by... just saying it.

"Trump says to invade Canada" would read like parody just a year ago. Something you'd make up to mock him. And yet he's now said it and people support the idea.

Yet Democrats argue themselves away from calling for big left-wing ideas. The only person who shifted the Overton Window to the left was Sanders and they fought him.

Republicans say to invade Canada and take over Greenland but yet we can't get Dems to say:

- "End denying people care they need - Medicare For All now".

- "America won't be made a fool on the world stage, we're cutting off aid to Israel."

Marijuana is recreationally legal in over half of the US and yet Biden couldn't build up the courage to demand national legalization of it? :deadbanana2:

Speak for yourself, I've been rallying for a Mexican invasion of Texas for days now. Harden your heart, Commander Sheinbaum!

The real question is: What do Trumpets think of this? Didn't they say he was anti-war? :rip:
