MoonGoodandHappy Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago (edited) Viral TikTok video has exposed one of society's most dangerous double standards: a man, while driving, notices a car speeding dangerously towards him in his rearview mirror. His natural and completely valid fear response to this life-threatening situation was caught on camera, ending with the approaching vehicle crashing into him. Instead of showing concern for his safety or acknowledging the trauma of such an experience, TikTok users flooded the comments mocking him for "acting like a girl" - as if survival instincts had a gender. This disturbing reaction perfectly illustrates how deeply rooted toxic masculinity is in our society, where we'd rather see men risk death than show a normal human response to danger. The thousands of likes on these hateful comments prove we're teaching younger generations that their natural survival instincts are something to be ashamed of if they're male - a mindset that isn't just problematic, it's potentially deadly. https://vm.tiktok.com/ZNeKSBGEB/ Theres also this video in longer version on YouTube but the comments are softer. What are your thoughts on this? Have you noticed how prevalent this kind of dangerous thinking has become in social media? Edited 13 hours ago by MoonGoodandHappy 1
Popular Post Hephaestus Posted 13 hours ago Popular Post Posted 13 hours ago I'm genuinely deeply concerned for the years to come. Between the right-wing shift pretty much all over the world, ignorance, hate speech and misinformation spreading like wildfire and social media frying people's brain, the future is looking quite bleak. 19
Gesamtkunstwerk Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Being chronologically on social media has literally poisoned human relations, like I can't take it, the amount of losers that validate each other online is just 12
XAMJ Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago tiktok is currently turning into Twitter 2.0. the MAGA KKKLan and racists are taking over and its pissing me off. their lack of empathy, and lack of education is infuriating to watch 1

NoOneDiesFromLove Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago TikTok has always been an app built to dumb down people, so naturally, ignorant people like the ones in the comments have found it to be a place of shelter. Hopefully it gets banned in more countries in the future. 1

I never used TikTok but I had an account on X and IG but since I deleted all my social media back in Nov, it felt so good not seeing the alt-right noise. 1 1

Digitalism Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago Some of you are acting as if people weren't this dumb before social media. 3
Mocha Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Tiktok genuinely has one of the worst comment sections of all time and makes Youtube commenters look like MENSA members. When it's not some low quality meme slop where users repeat the same incomprehensible lame inside joke throughout the comment section, it's some racist/homophobic/xenophobic ragebait. 3

commander Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago It's not only TikTok, that YouTube video is full of disgusting comments too. The way these straight men lash out at any situation is just pathetic. It's giving childhood trauma and daddy unresolved issues. 5
Venice B Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago I really hope one day I can get a very remote job that doesn't require me to use social media at all so I can delete all of my socials.
Stardom Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Some of the most heinous comments I've ever seen come from tiktok. You can't even blame edgy kids either. A lot of them are full grown adults saying the nastiest, most hateful things they can think of
Erotic Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Ban it, your honor! Also gen z are misogynistic sociopaths, let's face it

Trent W Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago 3 minutes ago, Europe said: Isn't it possible many of the comments are from bots? Partly yes But one of the reasons why social media has declined so much the last few years is that people lower education or intellectually challenged have overpopulated the comment sections, its a cesspool. People with more critical thinking are starting to get together in more private spaces, like chats or smaller forums For example I don't agree with everyone here but the quality of posts is 100x higher than with a dumbass on twitter or tik tok
