base talk Favorite Missy Elliott album?

I have really been into Missy Elliott lately and almost finished her entire catalog. All of her 6 albums are incredible. Easily the best female hiphop catalog ever. Whats your fav Missy album?

 

Also: How would you rank them? (if you are familiar with her discography)

Under Construction was a masterpiece

 

The fact she had a 10 week #2 blocked by "Lose Yourself" and another top 10 hit and the album sold 2M+ which is huge in female rap

 

She really is the GOAT

It's a shame she doesn't make albums anymore because she really did grasp what an ALBUM is. They're full on journeys once you get into them

I used to LOVE her. I wonder why she gave up on making albums. I would love to hear her really talk about why she stopped.

So glad to see a Missy thread. 
 

The Cookbook was her magnum opus as an album, perfect concept and she did it herself without Timbaland which makes it even better. It even has songs like Mommy, Meltdown, Partytime, Irresistible Delicious and Bad Man on top of the singles.

 

Lose Control and the music video is up there as one of her best. I'm so sad it was from her last studio album, I wish we'd gotten the scrapped album after that with Best Best and Put It On Ya - she would've continued to dominate. 

 

Under Construction comes a close second imo.

Totally agree. The Cookbook is so underrated. Thats true conceptual excellence. Teary Eyed is one of my favorite Missy singles ever.

Interesting to see that Miss E…So Addictive doesn’t get a lot of love here. That might be my favorite! “Lick Shots” deserves everything.

Wow, I might need to revisit The Cookbook. I always loved that album, but you all have convinced me I must have missed something along the way.

In 2011, she said it was due to Graves disease - she almost crashed her car from severe leg spasms while driving and her symptoms were so severe she couldn't even hold a pen to write songs. I think she's doing better now, she probably has a good money bag from her 6 albums alone and prioritizing health
