I just checked Wikipedia and The New Yorker ranked this as the best pop song of 2024, The Washington Post had it as the best single released in 2024, and Pitchfork had it at #35. What's going on?

 

Don't get me wrong, the video is fun and the song itself is not exactly horrible (if you don't listen to it more than once at a time), with some cute elements that ultimately don't really mesh well together.

The whole album was severely slept on and underrated and wrongly clowned solely because of Camila being the artist involved. Nobody gave it a chance when in reality it was one of the best pop albums of 2024

They were soooooo stupid for not sending this one to radio. We speculate a lot about what damaged the C, XOXO era so much but the fact is, it was He Knows. That song had 0 potential but they wasted so much radio payola and promotion on it. Meanwhile they left this flawless banger alone to die. It is very upsetting.
